True shouldn't let contracts run down but what can you do, hopefully as it looks no one apart from sagna is in that position, yh juventus were in for rvp but come on they offered something like 10m, that summer it was the case of getting as much money as possible and sadly it was united that came in
Just one more time on the suarez saga, Liverpool gotta understand it from Suarez point of view, another year of no European competition and just basically the cups to aim for, that ain't enough for him, i know chances have more or less diminished for us to get him but don't really get Henry's stance on foreign clubs coming in, is 12th aug really late to find a replacement when the window shuts sept 2nd I think
Don't think Liverpool would be able to replace Suarez if he left, no matter how much time is left in the window. There aren't many PROVEN world class strikers around at the minute and the ones there are are either unavailable right now or just joined another club.
Plus, even if there was a world class stiker to buy then without Champions League football it just makes it a whole lot harder to actually attract the level of player that could replace Suarez.
Difficult situation for Liverpool though because with the way suarez has handled himself i would sling him out the door and to hell with it. But if you cannot replace him then you're only damaging yourself in the end because you will only be a worse team without him.
Why do Liverpool need a world class striker !!! they need a half decent scorer from the lower leagues who the can bring in an nurture like a rushie, aldridge or hopefully they have another kid like fowler and owen.
someone like jordan rhodes for us would be awesome for them all though wouldnt want to see him leave us ( would mean almost certain relegation )
I know what you are saying but somebody like Jordan Rhodes would be a big gamble for Liverpool if Suarez left because he isn't proven at the highest level. If a club bought him then you would ideally buy him in addition to someone else and as you say try and nurture him and ease him in.
You cant sell Suarez though and his 30 goals and then put all your eggs in the unproven Jordan Rhodes basket, in my opinion. What if he flopped and got 6 goals? You would be 24 goals down on Suarez (last season) and be about 14th in the league it would be a disaster.
If you sell class, you need to replace it with class or else your just going backwards.
Jordan Rhodes?!? We didn't make top 4 with Suarez how is replacing him with Jordan Rhodes going to help?....... Jordan Rhodes?!
Lol, this thread is comedy. Is that Freddie Mercury in your avatar Fernando?
thats because the rest of the team is poor. bringing in messi and you still wouldnt qualify for europe. I was merely saying bringing in a world class striker is not the answer maybe if u got some decent midfielders and defenders and someone like rhodes who gets 20-30 goals a season then u would be more likely to get somewhere guessing thats where they brought rodgers in because what he did at swansea
I'm with HannahsPet, Jordan Rhodes is way better than Messi
