Harry's a bigger fan, the links tell me, although you wonder how many times Balotelli would have tested patience with his, erm... exuberance?
Certainly, I'd have sent him off after the celebration on Thursday for a second bookable offence. The shirt off is the technical first yellow, but I'd invent a retrospective rule of contempt for the second since he then just shrugs off Marchisio crashing into him, twice as hard as all the the German challenges that sent him tumbling!
Ok guys let's go serious for a bit here, if you had the opportunity to restructure the game from grass roots level up to help us make a team of world beaters for the future, what would you do? I stil think the PL needs to restructured in a way that in a World Cup Finals/Eurpean Championship Finals year they finish a season earlier to give the team more time to recover and prepare. I think Germany Italy and Spain have good game bases n their foootball that enables them to bring through young players for the future and mystified howe the hell we aren't doing the same in theis day and age. Our coaching regime needs to be restructured as well. how we coach our youngsters is where I'd start. Rather than one coach saying one thing and one saying another, coaches need to be following the same guidelines.
reckon thats why they chose hodgson over redknapp for the england job he would be more likely to use this new facility and also for the way he helped transform the swedish game in the late 70's and 80's not to mention with his work with uefa technical side also doesnt help when schmoozing with Fifa bods

he had a good loan spell with swansea but is he worth it?
This lad's a top player. The 8-10 million will turn out to be a bargain. We've not offered him the same dough as the likes of Adam and Henderson is what i've heard. Spurs came in and offered him the wage packet he was looking for...I thought the only thing he wanted was to work under Rodgers again! Is he greedy? Who knows? The deal we've put to him will be plenty, lets get that straight. We'll find out what kind of lad he is shortly.
His dad said we'll know who he's signing for on sunday or monday.
Good luck to Leon Best, who has moved to Blackburn for 3 million on a four year contract. I think its best for Best (that doesn't sound right that bit) to move, as his first team opportunities will be limited, as we plan on buying a striker whether its Luuk de Jong or some other striker
£3,000,000 !!! Great sell for Newcastle.
No wonder the English leagues are flooded with foreign players when a player like Best is being sold for that. Didn't you lot only pay £4million for Cabye ?

We did ya and what bargain he has been. He's not the only bargain player we have purchased during our return to the Premiership. I may sound bias, but I think he is a top midfielder
Tiote - 3 million
Ba - free
Cisse - although one of our expensive buys, still a good purchase for 9 million
Hopefully our fantastic scouting system will sign more talent. We could be signing Luuk de Jong, a good young striker and Douglas, who is a defender, but I'm weary if we sign him
You don't sound biased at all. Newcastle have been very shrewd in the transfer market and picked up some real gems. I just can't work out how Best has cost Blackburn 3mil. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he is a bad player at all.
Adam Le Fondre of Reading cost them under a million pounds last season. He was banging in goals for fun in League 2 for years (including several goals against us
) A fine player and a snip for that price. I hope he does well in the Premier League for the scum next season just to encourage more sides to look in the lower leagues before looking abroad.
I'm not complaining about the money, we got for Best, but I think 2 million would have been a fair deal. Maybe the amount of money we got is based on how long left he had in his contract, although I'm not sure how long left. Best is an ok player, but he's not brilliant or world class and can be frustratingly inconsistent.
There is bound to be talent in the lower leagues. For example, a player from Tranmere a couple of years ago, I think his name was Jennings went to Bayern Munich, he must have something about him if Bayern Munich buy him. There must be others like him somewhere
Well having to watch lower league football for my sins every week I can tell you there are a few players worth taking a punt on, but most of which would be loan players from higher sides anyhow. Most players play in League 2 for a reason, however there are some players who stand out (Le Fondre for instance) and as every season passes you think "How's no one bigger come in for him?"
I've seen a few players go up from lower league sides and make it (Aaron McClean for example) and some flop (Scott Donnelly and Adam Miller) . I remember a certain Joe Hart at Shrewsbury not so long ago! I think (and it might sound biased) but our 'keeper, Ross Worner might got on to better things in years to come, he's 22.
Teams like Swansea, West Brom and Norwich have used mainly Bristish players and it's great to see.
