"I think it's one of those things," he said. "The whistle's gone, the defender has gone to clear and it's hit him in the head. I think it was probably the right decision from the referee."
Hmmm ... so Rooney not backin up his manager on this RVP/Williams incident, huh!! Now, knowin Fergie that can only spell trouble for a certain Mr. Rooney.

End of the day a footballer got hit on the head with a football... so what..."lucky to be alive"... what kind of daft cunt comes out with that.. has he never seen the sport of boxing before?
Personally I think it was an accident and it was pretty much same time as the whistle was blowing, so it wasn't after the whistle, even if he did do it on purpose nobody can prove it, and if he did, fairplay it's a man united player lol if anything van persies reaction warrents a punishment alone.. and ferguson should be fined for his comments, any other manger would be.
Nice to read a well balanced, unbiased post in here
not sure what the whistle blowing or not blowing has to do with anything, if the ball isnt in play doesnt mean you cant get booked or sent off! im surprised about that though it sounds like fergie has never been fined by the f.a.! if hes never been fined by them, then i totally understand ur point about any uva manager wud be!

Like his the only one that does, most of them do it if they think they can get a advantage and personally i don't like seeing it in the game what ever player or what ever team.
I'm so deflated about the last minute 4-3 defeat to Man United.
I didn't watch the match, but reading various match reports, we were worth a point for our performance.
As soon as I heard the team line ups with Giggs and Scholes in their midfield, I knew there was hope, as our midfield has more energy than Man United's midfield.
I'm not sure do we take confidence from this inspiring looking performance and carry it on against Arsenal or will the players confidence be shattered after letting in a last minute goal. I hope they take confidence from it, but I won't hold my breath, as Arsenal is a completely different game and they will be well rested for the game.
The only downside is Anita could out for a while, as I think Valencia broke his ankle. I wonder will Fergie accuse Valencia of attempted murder. Its a shame to lose Anita, as he has been one of our best players for the last few weeks.
Its great to see Cisse also score a goal that will do his confidence a world of good.
I can't wait for the January transfer window though, we need it just as much as Liverpool or QPR do.
Also pray for Van Persie for making a miraculous recovery from that horrific injury at Swansea. Such a brave soldier
