Bit of an irony that then Michael Thomas left Arsenal and went to Liverpool where he scored a winning goal for them to win us the FACUP . I well remember that dreadful night especially Brian Moore's commentary "...charging through the midfield...its up for grabs now...its Thomas!" Sickening!!

You had to remind me of that night.
Was on the Kop, first match I attended after Hillsborough.
We were all in a bit of a strange state of mind, having gone through the tragedy of Hillsborough, then winning the Cup, and having to play a load of matches in a very short space of time, we’d beaten West Ham 5-1 at Anfield, then this game, having the double snatched away in the last seconds...
^your fans were very gracious as i remember.
It was probably the best ending to a season ever. Period. The Aguerooooooo moment was nothing in comparison.
Arsenal v Chelsea Europa League Final is live on BT Sport YouTube channel noe
Oh dear! Looks like Arsenal are going to need a minor miracle to get back from this-could be Chelsea's trophy!
Ooooooh! That was a drubbing! 4-1 and Giroud scores against his old club! Really surprised that Arsenal didn't try and make more of a game of it, but well done Chelsea, and that probably means Sarri will keep his job.
Looks like the week has concluded Danny D 1 Keiran Lee 0 lol

I definately clapped Arsenal for winning the title. Like I said though in my previous post though, the whole night just had an almost unreal feeling about it.
So much had gone on in the weeks leading up to the night, that I didn’t really feel anything like as gutted about the outcome as I normally would have done.
I think all we really cared about deep down after what had happened was winning the FA Cup, that was the number 1 target (how things have changed regarding that competition), we almost looked on the league as a bonus, so we were definitely almost pleased for you in a way that you’d come to Anfield and got the job done.
Thought it was typically classless of UEFA last night not putting forth any kind of tribute on the 34th anniversary of the Heysel tragedy.
On a big European trophy final night too. Utterly disgraceful.
I had both my friends who are Arsenal fans give me grief but yesterday they were rather quiet-did I mock their drubbing? No, of course not, they are still my friends and will remain so. Well said Robot Devil that tragedy should have been commemorated by something. I remember watching that myself - it still touches a nerve even today.
