The only thing about the whole Demba Ba situation is this clause... How and why is it in the public domain? Surely this is the type of thing that should be kept quiet, so you have to question why someone would want this clause to be so public!
Was hoping Everton slipped up tonight but again they win, had we won yesterday it would have been more easier being 2 points behind Chelsea with that game in hand, gotta give moyes credit ain't got no money yet they he still produces a team that challenges for a top 6 position
On Newcastle pardew should have just gone with cisse up top on his own as ameobi is finished in my view

so I'm thinking now is is it possible his pepole had a copy of his contract to show Chelsea ans pointed the clause out to them?

Everton aren't as hard up as people might believe. Yes Moyes has done a decent job, and hasn't spent as much as others, but I still think Everton has spent enough and have a decent wage budget. This myth that he's done it on a shoestring is bollocks. He's had the money, he's just brought wisely and got the team set up exactly how he wants.

I wouldn't say it was pointed out to a particular club, just leaked the information to the press and let the press do the work for you.

As far as I can see, there appears to be more than one person advising/acting as agent for Ba. That is not uncommon, particularly for some foreign players. It seems they get themselves into situations where a number of different people/groups have a vested interest in them, taking a cut of their income or transfer or sponsorship deals along the way (remember Tevez was 'owned' by some company when he came to the UK, a situation which I think is now outlawed).
Anyhow, I think what Pardew was meaning was that some of those advising Ba were giving him advice which benefited
them more than it benefited him (i.e. take a transfer because they will get a large cut of the fee).
As for the get-out clause, as I understand, it was a simple 'if someone offers X amount he is free to leave'. Chelsea made an offer of the appropriate amount, so Newcastle had no option but to allow Ba to talk with them, as per the clause. Ba did not trigger it, he couldn't and nor could his agents, it required an offer from another club.
The reasons behind the clause are clarified by admin earlier in this thread.

The key thing u said was spent wisely now if Wenger did that we wouldn't have useless players like chamakh, squillaci, djourou on the wage bill

I'd go as far to say Moyes has to be one of the shrewdest managers in the premier league. I think if Roy Hodgson wasn't England's manager, I wonder if Moyes would ever had been interested in it. (Or would England have been more boring under him?). I wouldn'ty like to guess as who is the top earnwer at Everton. if I did take a guess i'd say it was Fellaini.

I couldn't believe it when 'Arry said he hates the transfer window!!
SWP has not scored for 969 days in premier league! What a time to score #qpr
