Unfortunately rickhardo seems to be in error here, as there has never been a time in football when it was 'legal' to charge someone in the back. Many people in 1958 wondered why the goal had been given.
Goalkeeper Harry Gregg who was charged in the back by Lofthouse on that occasion wrote in his autobiography that "the middle of the back isn’t recognised as a normal place for a shoulder charge". Gregg also revealed that Lofthouse had admitted to him after the match that he knew very well it was a foul. Celebrations on the pitch after the match finished were muted that day, due to the manner in which Bolton had scored their second goal, with Gregg having been violently fouled, and their players initially refused to do the traditional Wembley winners lap of honour.
Bobby Charlton was playing for Man Utd in the cup final that day and later commented "I always got on well with Nat, who was terrific centre forward. That said, there is no doubt his charge on our ‘keeper Harry Gregg which produced their second goal was a clear foul." In his autobiography Charlton refers to the goal as "highly controversial" but said he had no complaint about the outcome of the match.

Mancini is said to furious with Tevez and has said he will never play for City again
Tevez should really stop acting the cunt, what a tasteless thing to do
God it was a joke FFS people take things way to seriously could well be in reference to Ferguson's famous response to a 2009 question as to whether or not United would ever be underdogs against City. 'Not in my lifetime,'
come on!!!
Congratulations to Sheffield United after a tense 2nd leg they finally got the goal that takes them to Wembley 6 minutes from the end, Stevenage for me were holding out for penalties so ultimately the class came though of United in the end. Sheffield United were very unfortunate to miss out on the automatic promotion slot but I have a feeling they will go all the way and seal promotion.

Of course it was a joke. Quite a good one too, and an effective riposte to what Ferguson said. Some people here are somewhat lacking in a sense of humour (maybe had a sense of humour bypass operation?)
