I watched Liverpool beat Man Utd 1-0 at OT in 2004. Unfortunately i had to watch it in the home section with 2 manc supporting mates so couldnt fully enjoy it. The c""ts were going to sell me up the river and out me as a scouser too over the result but thought better of it!!! The ticket cost me 50 euros at the time....dont know what that was equivalent to in pounds at the time, £40 maybe???? The United support was dismal on the day...very quiet. Perhaps the fact that it was a dismal game, settled by Danny Murphy's pen, didnt help things!!!
Yoda - was that the rare occasion when United actually played Liverpool at 3.00pm on a Saturday? And I bet you were searched before the match as there was an Al Quaida bomb scare rumour before the match, as I recall.
I'm not sure if you're having a pop at me or Hitmeuptop for defending ourselves Gazfc, but if it's aimed at me then I'll reply.
First thing, I've been to quite a few league grounds which might be termed 'shitholes' by some people, and I actually prefer the smaller, traditional grounds to most of the IKEA-type soulless lookalike stadia that are taking over the league. The old grounds at least offer some sort of character, which the most of the newer grounds lack.
Secondly, my point regards betting that you'd rather go to Old Trafford than Ashton Gate etc was meant that surely you'd rather still be in the Premiership than back in the Championship; surely you want the best for Hull City FC and would put up with going to the top grounds if offered the choice rather than languishing in mid-table in the Championship? And hey, there is the option of not going to Old Trafford if it costs you so much and you obviously hate it so much - surely no-one held a fucking gun to your head and forced you to part with £51 did they?
The Man Yoo reference seems like a bitter ABUesque dig at Manchester United in particular as opposed to your OT experience. It never ceases to amaze me why so many fans of clubs other than Liverpool and Manchester City so choose to hate United so much, often even more so than their local rivals and/or rivals in their own division.
And no, I don't look down on lower league clubs and their fans - it's only when they can't resist their typical lower-league chants and songs that they show themselves up for being small-minded (I think most people will know the sort of chants I mean, Like xxxx till I die, we support our local team, shit ground no fans etc). It's often the fans of lower-league clubs themselves who have some sort of inferiority complex and end up showing themselves up without even realising it!
Like I said the lower league clubs are full of genuine supporters, the prem league is a soleless hell ruled by money and fakeness. I'd take the lower leagues any day other that but sadly 2 move on we have to be up there
As for chants, how about 'we're man utd, we'll do want we want' 'or where was you when you was shit' 'we've got a stand bigger than your ground' they're just as small minded as ours (even though both sets of fans see that as banter) that's the think with man yoo supporters, you think everyone is jealous/in envy of you when in truth most don't even care about you. We may be jealous of your trophys but, the club not a chance.
As for unliking of the man yoo reference here's some that I usually call some other clubs
Liverfool
Wigwam
Scumthorpe
Weeds or the White shite
Bought a club dons
West sham
Drama queens park rovers
Notts forest (they hate that)
Le arsenal
Spuds
we've got a stand bigger than your ground lol. do they really sing that lol. i should know that cos according to hitmeuptop im a closet united fan, well thats what he said when he gave me a rep anyway, but i told him he could take it back. tell me some more funny songs what you all sing or is there a thread for funny football songs on here?
You're right - the We're Man United, we'll do what we want chant is extremely arrogant, isn't it! Not sure where it stems from (probably the not sitting down at away grounds thing) although of course it's not true as we tried to rid the club of the Glazers and they're still there aren't they!
In fairness, most of our chants do sound very arrogant, but like you say, it's all banter, and like at any match, it's nearly always started by the away fans. I remember your lot doing some sort of 'you're getting mauled by the Tigers' chant whilst pawing, which at least was original by some of the standards at Old Trafford.
I was sad to see Hull relegated as they added colour to the Premiership in more ways than one, but such is the way economically; I understand why you'd want to keep the traditional atmospheres at the lower-league grounds (believe me, so would I) but as you rightly say, you have to be in the Greed League if you want to progress, and that, unfortunately, means putting up with plastic touristy fans and crap atmospheres as a consequence
You are a real fan who obviously follows his club home and away, and believe me, you certainly have my respect as a football fan in the truest sense. Keep it up as there are not enough of you

A couple from the Manchester derby yesterday:
City is their name,
City is their name,
Won fuck-all since Elvis died,
City is their name!
and the old favourite,
This is how it feels to be City,
This is how it feels to be small,
This is how it feels when your team wins nothing at all,
Nothing at all, nothing at all (repeat ad.)*
Also, the City fans were chanting
Fat Granny Shagger,
He's Just a fat granny shagger!
just as the ball came over and the fat granny shagger actually justified his obscene wages for once. We carried on singing where the City fans had stopped...
*this is aimed eclusively at the self-styled massive club which City never tire of telling us they are, and is not sung or aimed at any other club.
And yes, Malicious, we do sing 'We've got one stand bigger than your ground' because it's actually true of any club with a capacity of less than the North Stand's 24,000.
TBF I love the we'' do what we want' chant in referance to standing, I stand at all home games and try at every away game which we couldn't do in the prem because of the tourist fans insisting on sitting.
The mauled by the tigers chant is just a piss take, most fans just dont get it at all, they actually think we're been serious when we do it (which is very rare)

BOLLOCKS, you say this know you've since been relegated, you'd sell your family to be back in the fucking prem and you know it, but i can see why you'd come out with shit like that because your team is playin' out of it's skin and still only 10th and that's with 3 ex united youth players in there fuck know's where you'd be otherwise.
i bet my life your attitude would change if you were lucky enough to grace the prem again and by "lucky" i mean if your opposition for the next 15 games dicided not to turn up.
