Ruud van Nistelrooy announces retirement
The former Netherlands international has made the decision not to extend his contract with Malaga, and will bring the curtains down on his playing career with immediate effect

Well the good news is as he's not playing any more he would be free to take over as their manager...

I'm pretty sure MOTD is now put together in Salford (if it isn't it soon will be) and Guy Mowbray, who is now the official no 1 commentator, is based in the north-west and commentates on the main game in that part of the country. He will also be doing England's live BBC games at Euro 2012 as well as the final. Steve Wilson, Jonathan Pearce and Simon Brotherton will be the other Euro commentators.
Motty has been semi-retired since 2008 (he's 67/68 next birthday) and rarely ventures outside of London matches nowadays.
Sky's Martin Tyler is also past retirement age and it'll be interesting to see if he wants to carry on or jack it in when his contract comes up for renewal in 12 months time.

is kean the favourite to take the job at villa? he knows how to relegate clubs properly.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18053463 more kean delusion.
the 3rd most deluded manager in the league kenny dagleish is saying hes going nowhere. liverpool are rumoured to look at getting berbatov.
scholes wants to play at the euros, there are enough old, slow, past their best players available for england but not enough ginger nutters.
i would take scholes if its only to sit on the bench. maybe old but mind is still sharp prob more effective than Stevie G and Lampard
thats the only way we will prob get rid of keane is if someone comes in for him or he falls asleep at the wheel on his 18 hour trip to pune this week those indian roads can be dangerous especially at night
one thing i dont get is if we are debt free then why the hell do we need to cut 40% of staff and wages if we got a 50 million parachute payment
