bytor. I can appreciate 'banter' but for all your protistatiions other than last season when did mufc have a "bad" season & If you say a bad season is finishing 7th & not getting in to cl that's1 season.i'm old enough to remember when mufc were relegated to the old division 2. I don't think 2 bad? Seasons in nearly forty years can be classed as the end of the world in football terms.
bloody hell some game at Goodison!! Value 4 money I'd say!!

I have never moaned once about finishing 7th. I have been merely pointing out the shortcomings of the squad at the moment and the areas I feel need addressing. I think Van Gaal will get it sorted and get the squad playing as a team with confidence.
I first saw United at OT the season we got relegated as a kid and went several times the following season in the old division 2. Not sure where you are coming from about all my protestations in the banter thread. Just the same as other members who are passionate about the teams they support. Anyway thanks for the comment
A great stat in today's Times.
Manchester United's spending in this transfer window is more than all of Brendan Rodger's at Liverpool, Rafa Benitez's at Liverpool, and more than all of Arsene Wenger's in 18 years at Arsenal. It is only a little shy of Mourinho's total spending at Chelsea in both his first and second spells at the club.
So much for the "we don't buy titles" bragging rights.
(IMO I don't think this is Van Gaal's fault. I think the Man U back office lost the plot when Gill and Bolingbroke left. The new guy should be sacked ASAP...)
Benfica v Sporting CP on BT Sport 2 now Lisbon Derby game.
*if anybody want's to see one of the worst goalkeeping displays go and watch Artur for Benfica
Man United have always spent money to win titles but never had to construct a entire team in short time if I was a united fan would be looking at the youth and asking whats happened to it

Its still there with a few good players coming through the ranks....whether they will make the grade as they develop is the question. There is nothing wrong with buying good players when they are needed. As one of the richest clubs in the world they can afford to.

yeah thats my feeling but seems most of your fans if someone beats them in the title race its because they bought the title
get a feeling these next 2 seasons could be good for united fans might get rid of a few million plastic fans
cant really complain about them not spending money on players and united always have a shit start to the season i reckon by christmas will be in top 4 -6

Ferguson wasn't a big spender, 13 league titles, 5 FA cups and 2 CL, as well as constantly beating the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool and how much did he spend in all his time at United?
^ I'd like to see Rodgers or Arsene manage that
