given another Arsenal player(Wellbeck) got injured playing in a meaningless game for Englà nd, I doubt Arsenal andcWenger will back Greg Dykes plan to make 50 % English players in squads
I wouldn't call any qualifier a meaningless game .
^it wasn't a qualifier, it was a friendly.
Thought wellbeck got injured in the lithuania game
sorry my mistake, thought he played against italy?
Nah he was withdrawn from italy game think was day after the lithuania game

Why would that make a difference. A team with foreign nationals are just as likely to have injuries if they play for their respective national teams surely?
While they are friendlies they are not meaningless. It gives the management team time to analyse strengths and weaknesses, to look at various formations and create opportunities to bed in new players.
I understand your sentiment though. Give me club football any day of the week over internationals. Besides risk of injury they do disrupt the momentum in the league at such a crucial stage.
Listening to pundits and commentators you wouldn't know it was a qualifier. According to them English could have put a reserve team out and still won.
