And anybody that doesn't know them needs to join Motson in the naughty corner
I even know some of the Highland League ones
.
Extra brownie points for me then

For the benefit of anybody that is unfamiliar with all the UK teams then please check out this website and educate yourself

Motson is full of shit. Dave McKay was a Scotland legend and to omit mention of this fact was nothing short of disgraceful. Ok then let's assume then that nobody south of the border has even heard of Hearts which is a crock of shit if you ask me but I'll take your word as gospel for the argument of my post.
So what about Scotland I suppose going by your post then nobody's even heard of this Country either yet you share the same border with us. Come back to me when you've got a more credible argument to explain the ignorance of that twat Motson.
I said most English supporters i for one do know a little about scottish football
what i was trying to say was that of course most of his english career would be gone thru more thoroughly than scottish teams and even scottish teams MOTD is always and has been top 4 or london clubs centric. i mean if they wont show teams like Rovers in the FA cup and resort to a few mins on football league show why would they give a fuck above stuff north of the border. Only times scottish football gets mentioned is the old firm derby of the Scottish fa cup final
Im sure Sportscene or the Scottish equivilent of MOTD did a good peice on him
John Moore is one of our greatest ever managers and he is scottish, although he was before my time and he only managed us for one season, now don't tell me you haven't heard of him SB
Well up until recently Hannahspet Sportscene used to also air the English Premier league games aswell. However seeing that Match Of The Day is also shown on BBC1 Scotland they decided to drop it. Fair point if you've heard of most the Scottish teams but come on Motson still should have at least given it a mention, I mean the man was Scottish afterall and his loss will be felt both sides of the border.
That's my rant over I think
....and one to be entitled too, SB. I guess FF might put that right this weekend, but I wouldn't be surprised if they fail to mention he played for Scotland, but I agree Motson certainly didn't do himself any favours but not mentioning his Scottish links.
Maybe from now on that everytime a scottish premiership player touches the ball commentators should say something lovely pass there by X hes scottish you know
The iPlayer wasn't up when I read this yesterday, but it now confirms my memory of just Tottenham and Derby being mentioned by John Motson, which leaves 33.33% of his English teams unmentioned.
In his defence (given we didn't see the whole of the applause tribute), it's possible that the BBC edited any additional comments out - which would make it twice as unfortunate! Motty's certainly aware from where he hailed, as this
this little piece of Hearts I found shows.
For the prosecution, he may well have left all mention of the Scottish career out, possibly expecting that MOTD would do a bit more than Gary Lineker's bit to camera. One way or the other, Salford's finest dropped the ball...
But mistakes do happen. I daresay I've typed 'Scottish Bloke' a few times and I knew, of course, that he was referring to the late, great Dave Mackay.
Actually Formally might be correct and motty might have been edited doubt he would have forgot he is the encyclopedia of footie
