Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish: "It was an absolutely shocking, woeful display. Maybe some of the boys were thinking about their holidays already. That team needs a change and there will be change. That wasn't an Alex McLeish team today. We need to bring more quality into the squad.I take (the fans' booing) on my shoulders for the sake of the players, I agree with the fans' frustration about our display.I'm expecting the board to back me. I have no reason to think I won't be (Villa manager next season). We've got through a really tough season. I've won lots of trophies as a player and manager and I haven't turned into a bad manager overnight."
he has been far too negative all season and villa deserve to be 17th in the league. i can leaner and his ceo sacking mcleish in the summer and someone like martinez, mike mccarthy get the job.
also 1st time since 2002 that all 3 promoted teams have stayed up. i hope reading and southampton stay up next season.
Sir Alex Ferguson speaking after the game away at Sunderland: "Nobody expected that. Everybody expected City to win, but they did it against 10 men for half an hour and with five extra minutes to help them. But I congratulate City on winning the league. Anybody who wins it deserves it, because it's a long haul. At the end of our game our players didn't actually know the results. Now, they're really disappointed, I'm glad to say. There's no other way they should be. They conducted themselves brilliantly today. Their performance level was good. I'm pleased at our performance this season. 89 points would win most league. It wasn't our turn today."
sounds like sour grapes. didnt man utd get a winner against man city in 1 minute of extra time in 5minutes of injury last season man utd winning 4-3 due to benchwarmer m. owen?
Can any QPR fan tell me if they want Barton to be sacked for what he did today, he's a disgrace to the game. Plus may I add, it could be a bright future for QPR with a good manager, some good players and the resources to build a decent club, they could be in the Premiership for a long time
Most QPR fans think that what Barton did was unacceptable and that he should be on the way out of their club.
When Man Utd had won they must have thought that they had done it with Man City 2-1 down, was amazing turn around!!

Hughes will do what he did with us his first season at rovers was staving off relegation then he rebuilt the team and we were a top 6 side for a few seasons

Now that is a fight I would love to see. Kompany would wipe the floor with him.
after de jong kung fu kicks barton in the chest
blackburn lose out on £2m the clause in the phil jones transfer about winning the league title.

dont think the rovers fans blamed him tbh the city job had the potential to be a good one. think he had taken us as far as he could with the finances we had and the walker trust not wanting to plough money into it
he left us with a few good memorys 2 FA cup Semi(losing to arsenal and Chelsea ) and europe not to mention couple of wins against arsenal and united

As for the title, I'm absolutely delighted for City. Yes they've spent huge amounts of money but football is all about money now, that's the name of the game. And it's about time United fans got that done to them, they've been winning in the last minute for years.
despite 2 dodgy decisions going against you today, it is justice as if clint hills, 2foot over thge line goal, had been given (think i said derrys) then t5odays results were irelevant mate.
