Thought West Brom played well today and deserved their victory, nothing wrong with any of the major decisions although the first penalty and sending off were a little soft and could of gone either way.
Referee had no choice, but to send off Agger, because he gave away the penalty and was the last man back. Although ya . . . Long went down too easily

I know some fans seem to think that because of one match, Swansea and Fulham will be contenders for the Premiership title, West Brom are in the hunt for a Champions League spot and Liverpool are dark horses for relegation, its crazy
Had a couple of Spurs fans moaning to me in the pub tonight, I don't get it, I mean its hard to beat your lot away at the best of times
Maybe this is the season when everything gets turned on it's head!!
Spurs always start the season badly,my biggest concern is they have not strengthened their defence.

Its not the defence that needs strengthening in my opinion, its the strike force

Absolutely right. We lost 2-3 at home to Watford after leading 2-1 till the 88th minute, yet some "fans" on our forum are already screaming "Freedman out" while conveniently forgetting that a) he's a Palace legend b) he got us beating Man U away last season and c) it's the first game of the bloody season. Everything is so short-term these days. I'd quite happily give Dougie 10 years in the job. One season of relegation is not the end of the world. Look at Norwich and Southampton, who both came down with us from the Premier League in 2005, both went down to League One, but are now both back in the Premier League.
Elsewhere, it must be so frustrating being an Arsenal fan, watching them play the opposition off the park but not finish them off. But I have to say that Santi Cazorla is class. The through ball he played for Giroud (who missed) was sublime.

Fans of any club who want their manager to be sacked after a defeat in the first game of the season are not proper fans in my eyes
Not only are they not 'proper fan's' but they are also the reason the game is in the state it is today. 'Fans' like that, along with agents, TV rights deals, sponsorship and players wages are all to blame. I love going away to support my club, however I loath going to all seater stadiums and having to sit on a shitty plastic chair and pay extra for the privilege of doing so.
