These days it seems alot of players come back from an inury to early and end up reinjuring themselves spending even more time on the shelf.

You're right Bigguy! Rooney was rushed back for the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Bayern Munich last season and has
never truly recovered from the experience, be it physically or mentally.
These days players are so molly-coddled by clubs and wrapped in cotton wool to the extent that they seem to have a much lower pain threshold and injury resistance than their counterparts from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
Much larger squads of players, far better playing surfaces and far superior medical care than back in the day mean that today's stars should be fitter and fresher nowadays but it seems the opposite is true. Obviously one is not allowed to criticise Sir King Kenny of Dalglish on this here football
banter thread but the facts suggest that the early retirement from football of Alan Shearer were as a result of three major knee injuries if memory serves, and his always being rushed back too soon due to his importance to Blackburn Rovers.
Hearing of Gerrard's set-back, coupled with the fact that he came back maybe ahead of ideal schedule,
does suggest that the 1970s and 1980s player that was Kenny Dalglish perhaps expects the sort of recovery levels from his players as he and his peers would have been expected of themselves.
This is not knocking anyone in particular but merely making an observation with facts to back it up.
Rooney (even though i hate the ugly bastard) still showed he's got it though with that overhead kick at the game at old trafford.

If we had a player capable of moving the ball forward like him then he wouldn't need to be rushed back but due to the fact we no longer have Xabi Alonso means Steven Gerrard is the main man when it comes to being the creative forward player in our squad, hopefully this will all change next season when we sign one or two players like Ashley Young etc, etc.
Young would be a good acquisition for Liverpool but i don't know if villa will let him go for anything below £20 million. Depends on what you bid. Nevertheless Gerrard out for a month is a big blow
lindor, dont forget shearer snapped his achiles tendon as well at newcastle under sir bobby robson.
nani is out until april.
just seen the end of footy focus they showed gazza picking up the yellow card the ref dropped and gazza "booked" the ref, abit of harmless fun, and the ref booked gazza for it. that ref is an idiot.
balotelli is allgeric to certain types of grass, according to man city medical team. this is cover up for his poor form and petulant behaviour. it reminds me of british rail/network rail blaming everything but themselves for their poor performance eg its too cold or hot, the wrong type leaves or snow etc

He's not got long left on his contract so would cost £12-£14m & it looks like a straight race between Liverpool & Utd.
I hate young, he's a cheating little kunt
I read something the other day about us having struck a deal with Udinese for first talks with Alexis Sanchez at the end of the season.
Young down the left and Sanchez on the right would be frightening to other teams.
Hope it's true.
