I would of though defence would have been the least of Liverpool's and Rodger's concerns with Skertal, Agger, Coates and Carragher, although I understand Carragher is getting a bit on the old side, so maybe Forren will fill in for Carragher when he eventually retires from football.

Seems the trial is off.
Southampton have had a bid more or less accepted for the player and are in talks on personal terms.

Allegedly QPR are also sniffing around
Regarding Raheem Sterling I seriously don't believe the generic call of young players being "Burnt out by too many games", to me thats just bollocks!
One of the main reasons why players of this age group "Go missing" in these kind of games is down to their lack of tactical knowledge. Playing in the U21s or reserves against Utd is very different to playing the Premier League fixture.
In the reserves these type of players are the star man but in the first team they're just another body, especially playing where he does he'll have to do a lot of tracking back & even when supporting the attack needs to beware of the instant counter attack, therefore their creative freedom is less expressive. Allround awareness plays it's part too.
Yeah he looks like being a good players but all his coaching up till now would have been about him expressing himself & learning the forward game, such as when & where to beat the defender along with crossing, he's now at the stage where he starts to learn the allround game & he's doing it in the Premier League with a team in the so called transition stage. So yes he'll not play well from time to time, but "Burn out".... No not for me!
A long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away Liverpool were a major force in Football. Then again so were Stoke, Preston North End and Huddersfield. 24 points below the worst Man U side in a decade and still deluded. No passports needed next season.
The Man Utd team in 03/04 was much worse.
not sure wot the worse man utd team has anything 2 do with this thread
maybe u shud argue about that in the man utd thread!
In response to the post above saying Liverpool are 24pts behind the worse Man Utd side in the last decade.
