Well there's a turn up, a first win for Liverpool against our old enemies Manc Utd. From what I've been listening to on the radio to the commentary, Utd have been abject and allowed Liverpool the chance to attack. I worried that our formation had changed again 3-4-3 and without stalwarts Milner and Henderson(who came on as a sub) but with Salah, Mané(scored first goal) and Firmino, together with Fabinho, Keita and Shaquiri(who scored twice) I shouldn't have worried even though Utd got one back, but what on earth was someone of Pogba's class doing on the bench?. This result is off the back of a hard game against Napoli last week. It also means we keep the pressure on Man City. Bring on the Wolves on Friday. Final score: Liverpool 3 v Man Utd 1. Smile

Warms the cockles this....Big Grin Theyre closer to Fulham that they are to us...mind the gap lads
Hmm Champions League draw sees Liverpool v Bayern Munich-that's okay, we'll take that at least we avoided Real and Barcelona so the two games in February should be interesting. In the meantime WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE, SAY WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE!
Not a great start but then again they are at home and our away record isn't great at the best of times. Sounds to me as though there should have been a red card for Vincent Kompany for a bad challenge. Mind you he has got form in the past. I think we should bring on someone else-oh hang on, Fabinho is on now. I am worried about Aguerro and seeing as he scored earlier I was right to be so, but I am also concerned that De Bruyne is on the bench and could come on. I won't shed too many tears if we lose BUT even if we do, we're still ahead in the League with Wolves at the weekend in the FA Cup and then I think there is a Winter break this year?
Oh well, it had to happen eventually but it was quite a run unbeaten. If you're going to lose, you might as well lose to a top quality side rather than a lower club. Liverpool are still on top but the lead has been cut, but you have to say it is NEVER over until the final game of the season OR someone pulls ahead by so many points there is no mathematical chance of losing. No disgrace to lose a game like this against a great side. Now onwards to Wolves and the FA Cup. I am sure we will bounce back from this.

I never want to see that midfield 3 in a big game ever again. Just too passive.

Don’t even get me started on that 4th rate useless cunt Lovren. Every time he opens his mouth, shit happens, concentrate on the fucking game on the pitch, not talking shite on Instagram you softarse gobshite cuntannoyed..didn’t fucking help him playing like complete fucking wank.

Trent Alexander Arnold had a fucking mare defensively, both of the City goals came from his side which says a lot, but he’s still young so will learn.

Kompany should have been sent off for that challenge annoyed

Big reaction needed against Brighton..
Would of like to see Liverpool of done more to win this game, didn't really press it like they usually do.

This is the part of the season where squad depth really comes into play and Liverpool don't have the depth that City do. Other than Shaqiri Liverpool don't really have an impact sub, if one of Salah, Mane & Firmino get injured and he starts and Liverpool find themselves needing a goal or two after 60+ mins who do they turn to? City had Gundogan, De Bruyne, Mahrez & Jesus all on the bench today, Liverpool had Moreno & Lallana. With the Champs Lge still to come, the fixtures are going to pile up and it will take a Herculean effort for that staring XI to stay fit all the way to the finish. Those extra 3 points would of been worth their weight in gold for Liverpool

For me, Klopp fucked up by starting Milner who looked well off the pace in the midfield. Should have started Fabinho there.

Henderson did nothing of note against a top side yet again. Time to take the armband off him and give it to Van Dijk.

That flat midfield is just not progressive enough to give support to the front three, and with Liverpool not having a front player who could hold the ball up effectively, this just accentuated the problem.

Klopp's a fantastic Manager & his man-management/motivation skills are second to none (you can see it when he's on the pitch hugging each individual player at the end of each match) but sometimes his team selections just leave me baffled. For when you see a team-sheet that has Milner,Henderson & Wjinaldum in the centre of midfield any means of creativity from midfield is limited. All 3 are effectively defensive midielders who just don't have an ounce of creativity like past Liverpool midfielders like Coutinho,Gerrard,Didi Hamann or Xavi Alonso had with that instinctive vision to pick 30,40,50 etc yard passes. They are hard working without question & run themselves into the ground but the 3 never fill me with confidence when they receive the ball on the edge box that they would even hit the target when shooting like the previous names I mentioned or even grab a game by the scruff of the neck when need be.I maybe alone but I just don't see what Henderson brings to the midfield at all,he was initially brought in as the understudy to Gerrard & spent the first 6 months literally standing in Gerrard's shadow on the pitch (like he was a siamese twin) but he just seems content by pondering around in front of the two centrebacks effectively like a fifth defender. The truth is for the large amount they received for Coutinho they never replaced his creativity in midfield that needs addressing either in this January's transfer window or the Summer for they dicked about last Summer with Lyon's Nabil Fekir then baulked over some old injury & tried to haggle the price down to no avail.I heard on the grapevine that Christian Pulisic was a serious transfer target but bottled it when Chelsea bid £50+million & for the great young player Pulisic is he is more a winger than a creative midfielder Liverpool need.

Looking back at the Man City game though Liverpool looked like they was playing like a team content to play for the draw or like a Champion's League game 2nd leg game protecting a 1-0 from the 1st game which would have been fine until Man City scored.
It wasn't until Fabinho came on in the 2nd (for Milner) that Liverpool had a bit more creative spark (he should have started) that only Alexander-Arnold was providing any glimpses of beforehand.Liverpool still have that infuriating pass continuously along the back line mentality as if to slow games down but panic & lose the ball when teams press them with a high attacking line.
