The Aspas signing should be wrapped up later today from what I've read. He passed his medical yesterday then flew back to Spain to say his goodbyes.
We'll find out in the next 24 hours if we've got Luis Alberto from Sevilla. He was on loan at Barcelona last season, they've got until today to sign him permanently or he'll sign for Liverpool according to the echo.
Thiago Ilori should be done and dusted in the next few days from Sporting Lisbon.
We had Henrikh Mkhitaryan watched on Tuesday playing for Armenia as well. Not seen much of this fella, a few bits and pieces in the champions league for Shakhtar, he's supposed to be a top player. An attacking midfielder, he broke the Ukrainian league goal scoring records last season with 25 goals in 28 games. Will take £20m to get him.
Why do we keep buying attacking midfielders?

Rodgers quotes from the echo yesterday...
"We need one or two centre halves and I'm looking to bring 20 more goals into the team.
“So I'm also looking at another offensive player to give us a real threat on goal and another attacking midfield player.
“We definitely need to do that, especially if we're going to put some young ones out on loan next season to gain experience.
“But it's not easy when you can't make mistakes. We want to keep the acceleration and pushing on so this is a very important window for us. We have to do our best to make it right because the players who need to come in have to be effective right from the off."
"I'm not here to be comfortable and sit and earn the money and just enjoy being the Liverpool manager. There's a pressure that comes with it. And I believe we're in a much better place to do that.
"What we have shown in my first season is promise. There have been moments of disappointment and moments of delight but when I look at the reality of it we scored 47 goals the season before I arrived and this time got 71, and we hope to add to that amount.
“Defensively, for a team that was supposedly very strong last year, we only conceded three more goals so in terms of numbers and performance-wise then we have improved.
"I believe we will improve again and we have to because we want to sustain a challenge. I think we can do but it will be a tough ask because as we improve other clubs will have masses more money to improve also.
“But I believe we have built a real good base. It's not my job to look for excuses, I have to find the solutions to try and push us in there and I believe we won't be too far away."
Let the man work Fernandez.
3 new signings today lads! Apparently all 3 showing good potential....

I wish
we would be champions of europe and england in no time.
Looks like Liverpool are close to signing Simon Mignolet and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Mignolet would be a good signing for Liverpool if the deal happens as he was one of the best keepers in the league last season and one of the reasons why Sunderland managed to stay up last season. Although I have a feeling that may mean that Reina may be leaving as I can't imagine Mignolet agreeing to sign as a back up keeper when next season is so important for him to be first team keeper for Belgium in the World Cup next year.
Mkhitaryan would also be an excellent signing for Liverpool. I have seen him a few times in the Champions League and when he played with Armenia against Ireland and he usually stood out as a very good player.
Liverpool getting their business done early and are moving in the right direction.
that means bye bye Reina
Mingnolet would not move to be number 2 choice..

I guess if Reina leaves then Liverpool would need another keeper as back up for Mignolet or else Rodgers is happy with Jones as a second choice keeper.
As far as I know there haven't been any bids yet for Reina, but Barcelona appear to be the only interested in him. I think if Reina is let go then AC Milan should try and sign him.
Reina's been a great Liverpool keeper. One of the best in the world over the years. He's not been at the peak of his powers for a few seasons all the same.
The Barcelona thing's been around for a while, think he fancies going back... He could even sign for Arsenal you know, think they were in for Mignolet as well. A change of scenery might be best for himself and for Liverpool.
Mignolet looks the best keeper in the league to me.
