He can have a medical when ever but he cant transfer untill the window opens, i guess they are trying to save time by doing it now so when the window opens he can move strait away.
Its belived to be around £12 million. Im 50/50 about this transfer, like you i also find him very selfish but rodgers is a great manager so he should be a great signing.
I've made my views clear on Sturridge before so why don't we use half of what we'd spend on him and use it on Klaas-Jan Huntelaar , who is a proven goalscorer for club and country and would also reunite him with Suarez as the two had a prolific partnership at Ajax.
I've always liked Sturridge. He's a finisher, he's quick, got the priceless knack of being in the right place at the right time and hes always trying to score. Confident lad as well. Rodgers will bring him on, improve him. He could be a star in a red shirt for me. Good signing. Read he'll make his debut against Sunderland on Jan 2nd at Anfield.
The manager likes pace and mobility in his front 3, players that can play through the middle and on either side. Not sure if Huntelaar's the type he'd be after Mr77. Goalscorer though.

I think the owners should make up for the farse that was the summer transfer window and get us Sturridge and Huntelaar! although what would make my perfect christmas would be....
Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Lucas Gerrard
Sturridge Suarez David Villa
Huntelaar

I think he's got the pace and mobility and he could be immense with Suarez .
Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Lucas Gerrard
Sturridge Suarez David Villa
Huntelaar
or more defensive option
Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Lucas Gerrard Sahin
Suarez Huntelaar David Villa
and finally if we had kept some past players!
Reina
Arbeloa Skrtel Agger Reira
Alonso Mascherano
Suarez Gerrard David Villa
Torres
Only problem in signing David Villa would be Sterling being relegated to the bench which would be a shame as he's been one of our better players this season .
I don't see why Liverpool can't sign Huntalaer or Villa either.
I suspect Joe Cole and Downing could be sold in the January transfer window.
Then by selling those two, it makes room for either of the players I have named above.
I think Villa would be potential a better signing than Huntalaer for Liverpool. He can play on the wing and through the middle and he knows how to score goals. I think Rodgers should seriously consider signing Villa.
Besides changes in Liverpool's forward line, I think getting another defensive midfielder for cover for Lucas is vital for Rodgers to get.
When is borini back from injury?
