Well!!! Another bad start to a season for us,but I think It's far to early to be throwing ourselves under trains/busses or off cliffs,we had our moments in the first half and but for some poor finishing ,could have been leading.
Hands up we lost, but to say Phil Dowd had a Stinker would be an understatement,Suarez got nothing in the game (his reputation precedes him) Shane long diving about like Tom Daley didn't help matters, but the fact still remains we lost.
All in All bad day at the office, must do better, but hey! One game does not a season make.
PS:Phil Dowd.is a Wanker
Now we will see what rodgers is made of bad start and a refusal to use carroll until it was to late despite him being what was required for today.
Reading some of the comments on newspaper websites such as The Daily Mail and The Guardian, there is definitely an over reaction to this one bad result
I have read some people saying Rodgers is not the right man, he will be gone by Christmas and that Liverpool will finish midtable
Some people, who wrote those comments are over reacting and are over dramatic. Sure it was a bad result against a team that you were probably expected to win against, its not end of Liverpool's season. There is still a long season to go
But to say Liverpool's season is going to be a disaster is quite frankly stupid
A manager needs time to implement his own philosophy and get his team to gel
"Not the end of Liverpool's season". The amount of times I've heard this shit over the last 18 or so hours is beyond a joke. It's the first game of a 38 game season for fuck sake!!!
I've only seen MOTD this morning & from that it looks like we were a bit shit especially in the second half. We didn't do much closing down when they had the ball or press them i.e. Tottenham & left massive gaps in our own half when on the attack, we can talk all day about the second penalty but thats what you get from Phil Dowd everyone knows that.
It looks like we could do with swapping Borini & Suarez round as Suarez's conversion rate isn't great, he's better at running at the defence than shooting at the crowd & the new lad's probably more of a central striker.
Lets be honest Steve Clarke was always gonna have his team compact & say let them get into our half with their passing game which most of the players will be doing for the first time at this level so they'll be a bit slack on the defensive recovery so we'll be able to break quick & grab a few goals.... It worked a treat, but like I say I only saw 10min of it on MOTD.
AUGUST
25 Manchester City (H) 0-2
SEPTEMBER
1 Arsenal (H) 0-1
15 Sunderland (A) 1-1
22 Manchester United (H) 1-2
It'd be typical of us.
We need to get our house in order pretty sharpish!

Phil Dowd has a pretty decent game, called it about right for both teams. Both were penalties, and the letter of the law states Agger had to go. Suarez was treated no differently from any other player, it was just he was the only one who reacted badly to it. And Shane Long didn't dive, he was 100% shoved and then tripped for the two penalties. Watch it back.

I agree Agger should have been sent off, as he was last man back. But Long went down a bit too easily, he's a strong lad and could have made himself strong against Agger
As Liverpool supporting Alan Hansen said they were both clearly penalties and by the rules Agger had to go.
I've got no complaints about either pen or the sending off, on a different day neither would of been given and i don't think the west from fans would of had to much to complain about either. However what did disappoint me was the attitude of the Liverpool players, they seemed to throw in the towel after 60 minutes n that is not good. I also thought the west brom players where very honest staying on there feet in the last 20 mins or so, or we could of been down to 9 maybe 8 players. Still as it has been pointed out its only the first game!! I remember man u getting stuffed 3-0 at villa on the first day once and it did them no harm. :-).

Firstly:welcome to the Red section.
Secondly:Congratulations on your victory.
Now with the formalities out the way, there's no way the Agger challenge was a pen. Letter off the law would surely state contact "IN" the box It's not a try in rugby where your momentum carries you over,so sending off last man "yes" contact in the box "No."
Skrtel pen was so soft it was quite laughable(not for me) that being said, here's hoping you get a couple off those decisions in your next few games,I'll enjoy reading your glowing endorsement of the ref & his decisions.
Anyway,Congrats again you score more than the opposition you deserve to win."Fact."
We played some nice football in the 1st half and start of 2nd. They scored a worldie, a pen and a tap in header at the backpost when the game was finished. Suarez had 3 blatant chances from 6 yards or closer and missed them all. He needs to start being more clinical. We wouldn't be hearing all the bullshit we've heard yesterday and today if he was. He should get 30-35 goals a season with the chances he creates. Joe Allen looked brilliant. He'll be a real player for us.
Big disappointment to lose our first game though.
Just heard Pep Segura's left. Think he was supposed to be moving up from the academy to work with a director of football and the new manager this season but when Rodgers came in the idea was scrapped. So he's off. He'd improved the academy no end, bit of a loss for the club that.
