17mins in Mane scores to make it 1-0 with a sublime grounded cross by Arnold against a stubborn & well organized Wolves side who look like they fancy their chances.
Unbelievable Jeff! Brighton have just scored Glenn Murray scores with a headed corner in the 27min.Get In!!!.
But as I typed this Aguero has just scored a quickfire equalizer to make it 1-1.
should i crack open the ginger beer now?
As results stand at half-time stands Man City 2-1 up against Brighton the title is theirs to lose but Brighton have shown they are a threat at set pieces to City's defence. But since Liverpool took the 1-0 lead through Mane there has been a nervousness & a lot of wasteful passing.Liverpool need a second (or a third) to quell the nerves but their lack of ball retention in midfield is showing again & they really need a kick up the arse for the 2nd half with possibly Milner coming on to steady the ship. There have been a couple of situations where Salah instead of passing to team-mates in a better position is trying to go it alone possibly thinking about the Golden Boot.
3-1 City-game over for Liverpool I'm afraid. It was almost but not quite but at the moment Liverpool sound a bit laboured in this second half and the crowd are trying to lift them. We've just lost Robertson but it probably meant he wasn't at full fitness. Milner is an able substitute. I am looking forward to next season when I hope we will finally see the exciting Rhian Brewster, it's about time he started a game.
Mane scoring with a tap-in to make it 2-0 in the 82nd min to settle the nerves for Liverpool in which has been a nervy & lethargic performance (not a surprise with the big game effort against Barcelona).A small nugget of consolation with Man City leading 4-1 against Brighton to retain the title unfortunately.
The OX is back! Great to hear and maybe he can play in Madrid. Amazing season wasn't it 94pts and no title! The only game lost was against City if only we could turn back the clock? Ah well. Oddly Mané and Salah are vying for the Golden Boot so if Mané or Salah score they can win that accolade. Yet again we lose out on the chance of a title, but I don't think anyone at Liverpool can hang their heads, they have played an absolute blinder this season WE NEVER GIVE UP! On to Madrid and hopefully a 6th title there. Final score Liverpool 2-Wolverhampton Wanderers 0.
Well that’s that. Second again. Now comes the bullshit from the 20 odd points behind teams fans, the irrelevant fans of clubs in no way a rival or in the same league about us “bottling” etc etc. This was probably our best shot IMO. City will blow another 2- 300m this summer to further cement themselves and make sure they don’t have such a scare as this year. But that’s fine as long as we don’t win it...
Congratulations on City retaining the Premier League on 98 points but both Liverpool & City proved that the season is a marathon & not a sprint & we stood toe to toe with each-other right until the end.Yes I'm disappointed we didn't get our hands on the title & end the 30 years of League Title drought but I'm so proud of what we have achieved this season finishing 2nd with a whopping 97 points & only losing once in the league all season. Not to mention a small date with destiny on 1st June in the Champions League Final.
Both Mane,Salah & Aubameyang finish joint top scorers of the Premier League to share the Golden Boot.Keeper Alisson won the Golden Glove.
And so the quest to find that creative midfielder we badly missed & needed this season hopefully begins over the Summer Break.
Proud of the lads, proud of the manager and the club. Beyond proud to be a Red, gave our all in every game and pushed the Abu Dhabi oil cheats right to the end.
We’re not going away, we will not be moved and we’re gonna be in there fighting again next season...
But in the meantime...we’ve got a nice little trip to Madrid waiting for us.
I’m not going to congratulate City, they’re the kid who play football manager with all the cheat codes enabled. They’re the Ben Johnson of football. Fuck them.
