The players are good enough they need to be let off the leash. How many times have we set up with just one up top when we should be going at teams like Fulham and QPR with a 4-3-3 for those of you old enough to remember when Dalglish was last in charge it was exactly the same then. He is naturally very defensive and cautious.
I'm all for 4-3-3 but I think the only reason we play one up is because Carroll isn't good enough & they're now seeing it for themselves, Kuyt & now in ture Liverpool style so Craig Bellamy sre seen as wingers.
Suarez is quality but he has his own style which isn't straight down the centre so this means we lack a central figure in the box to finish off all the lose & second balls which strikers like Owen, Torres, Hernandez, Anelka & Bent would eat up.
This is how I think our squad should look.
Pepe
Johnson/Kelly Škrtel/Carra Agger/Coates Enrique
Gerrard/Henderson Lucas/Spearing Adam/Shelvey
Maxi/Kuyt Suarez/Carroll Downing/Bellamy

I don't regret Kenny coming back one bit cmiller you need to be a Red to know how we feel about him & what he's done for the club more so since he was last manager but I just wish he'd assessed the situation before buying Downing & Carroll & playing 4-4-2. He came back the same time as Damien Comolli & the new takeover happened & the appointment of Kenny was probably a knee jerk reaction by the Amaricans & Ian Ayre to settle what was a very very rocky boat & it worked but now it's about football & all's not well.
I think the Premier League is what it is now with a rebuilding job to be done at UTD & once thats done it'll be so so & this means us not moving on & this is why I think we need to sit down in the summer & make sure everyone knows what they're talking about with the highest of knowledge of how to take the club forward both on & off the pitch as like I've said the last few seasons have all been the same & this will next season effect us in a business sense.
Some don't see it but this is very testing times for us as it's the first time we can really assess the knowledge of the new owners & how challenging Ian Ayre is willing to be also how much influence Comolli is going to have, plus will Kenny review his tactics & will Steve Clarke bring a flavour of what he picked up when winning Premier League titles.
