I was and yes the crowd was quiet at times but it seemed to be more a first day at school type nervous atmosphere , as for the team I think Southampton deserve credit for stopping us playing fluidly but we wore them down and got the win which shows we have the strength to overcome teams who try to stop us playing , which is what top teams do .

The only times it wasn't quiet were YNWA at the start then until we scored all you could hear was southampton fans asking if it was a library....

And Southampton deserve credit for being the better team on the day, not for "stopping us playing fluidly". The only thing that stopped us playing fluidly was us being poor. Lucas, Coutinho, Gerrard all were poor... and as for Glen Johnson he shouldn't even be on the pitch..

And while i'm on here I find it funny how we spend over 100m and we still Start the season with Lucas playing and we are still bringing on players like Joe Allen, who in all respect in the long run aren't going to win us anything. And now we are scratching around for a Decent Striker with City next week would it not have been an idea to get this sorted out first before the season?

Chelsea went out Straight away and bought in Costa & Fabregas and had been planning this last season both added proven quality that is probably going to win them the league, where's our Proven quality thats going to get us challenging? Lambert, Can?... Can didn't even get on the pitch. Is this going to be another £10m Bench warmer like Aspas, Alberto, Toure, Coates, Illori, Assaidi, Borini?

If you think that we are good enough then thats your opinion and your entitled to it, but I have my own opinion also. Don't come on here getting mad at me personally because you don't like my view on this situation. I'm not having a go at you, i'm having an opinion on the team, not you.

Only first game of the season so i think its pointless you 2 debating stuff now, maybe after 10 games you should come back and start debating again.

As for Rodgers yesterday saying he wants a striker, I think the name Benteke is just crying out at us. I know he's injured, but this guy has slid under the radar, i think he'd be a great asset
