Unlikely.

Read Madrid are generally quite careful with their transfer spending. (In fact from now on with Financial Fair Play in place they have little choice).

Take the last 3 seasons, the Mourinho years. They signed 7 players in 2010 at a total cost of £82m (£73m nett), 6 players in 2011 at a total cost of £48m (£41m nett), and in 2012 they signed 7 players for £29m (£0m nett). That's a nett spend over that time of £114m, which is unexceptional for a club of that size, and they didn't pay £30m for anyone, milkman or otherwise. Before Bale, Modric was the last big signing at around £26.4m, and the year before they signed Coentrão for around the same. In fact before Bale you have to go back to 2009 for the last £30m plus signings. They will however pay above the odds if they want a player badly enough, although players they want that badly don't come around very often. This summer, excluding Bale as that hasn't been announced yet, Real Madrid have brought in 9 players so far, but with Higuain leaving for a big fee their nett spend this summer is only £7m.

Apologies. This is totally my fault. I have a bad, bad personality trait called a sense of humour, which, sometimes, includes sarcasm and a little exaggeration. You, seemingly, have the personality of a blackboard. I did not know this. I do now. Apologies. Wink

Take the last 3 seasons... blah, blah, blah....

Please note - I am going to assume (very safely) that Real Madrid have existed and done transfer business since before 2009.

First of all, I think people in this thread want to read about LIVERPOOL, not your historical (or hysterical?) guide to Real Madrid transfers which, by your account, have only taken place since 2009 anyway. That said...

Now, you say generally but then proceed to talk about one phase over the last 3/4 seasons. News Flash...... that's not general! Just so you know, keep up. So, just for you, i will touch on it generally. Thank me later.

Real Madrid overpay for players, however you want to twist it, mask it, lie about it, go ahead, have fun, but they still do it regardless. If you had any idea what you were talking about rather than just researching stats and figures you would know that Madrid do pay and have paid a lot of crazy transfer fees that exceed the true value of the players themselves. They are notorious for it. No i will not look this up for you, bring 'evidence', do an essay, a presentation or a lecture. I do not have the time and i know this is right. So, do what you want with that.

Modric was not £26m, it was more than that, although they did not over pay for him.

Coentrao was near enough £30m and, yes, they over paid. Mahamdou Diarra (remember him?) was bought for £22m. Kaka was £57m (cheap eh). Elvir Baljic for £20m back in 1999!! £20m for Walter Samuel. £20m for Flavio Conceiciao. The list goes on and on of them overpaying if you open your eyes. Over the years that's what they have notoriously done. A lot!

The only reason they have not overpaid particularily in the last few years is because Mourinho himself has controlled transfers and he knows what he is
doing. Now he is gone, as you can see, it is back to normal again. The same old Real madrid, back again. THAT is the real Real Madrid! Not an isolated few years that you carefully pick out when you feel like it.

They have just signed Asier Illaramendi for £30m! Forgot about him did you Einstein? Now Bale for £90m. Also Isco for £27m as well plus the millions they paid to his dad. Go on say it, that isn't £30m! Big Laugh
You know what, it isn't careful either. And they, Real Madrid, generally aren't.
Well said Crazyion.

Since your post is insulting throughout it seems that you simply can't tolerate anyone having an opinion which is different to your own.

I'm not going to go tit for tat and start trading insults with you, and neither will I carry on the discussion and further explain my point of view since you are so intolerant of other people's views, so I simply won't post in this thread anymore. According to you, people in this thread don't want to read my posts anyway, so I won't be missed.

William H Bonney out.

That my friend, is you. Not me. Grab a mirror.

I will (and do) happily take other peoples opinion on board. Happily. That's why i am here. But if you voice your opinion like you do then it does not sound like an opinion but like a truth from the bible that everybody must obey at once. Your stating facts as an absolute truth of why your opinion cannot possibly be wrong and your way is the only way, look at the figures! But it doesn't always work like that and if you do do that and you make no concession to what somebody else is saying then sometimes that will come across bad, rightly or wrongly. For example, you say 'Madrid didn't spend £30m on anybody in that time frame'. Yet they spent about £27m on Coentrao. Okay,no, it is not quite £30m, but come on, seriously! See what i mean? No concession at all.

I never once said 'people don't want to read your posts. End of.' Go back and check, i said this particular thread is a Liverpool thread and people in here will probably want to talk about Liverpool, not Real Madrid and their transfer history. That's all i said. You took that in your own way.

Look, i have read your posts in other threads and i have agreed with what you have said, stuff i haven't thought of. Stuff i don't even know about yet! Good points! BUT if you come after me over a negligible subject like a sarcastic comment then THAT i'm not going to take. I cannot make one jokey comment without a full on debate ensuing? In the wrong thread? No? Great.

At the end of it all, you took an innocent sarcastic comment (by me) about Real Madrid buying the milkman and made it into a full on serious debate. Do you think that i was actually implying Madrid would buy the milkman? Really? Of course you didn't. But for some reason you felt inclined to oppose a sarcastic comment like that. Only you would know why you would do that.
Watch out Dre! Barnes is about Wink

Two games in & six points on the board = happy days.
Another top goal from Sturridge
the leagues your's to lose! Smile
We played great 1st half but the second half we were very poor I thought, we needed to play safe and keep the ball not try and force things, we drop back far too deep.
