He can't be taking a pay cut because he's out of contract.

?
He'll be on less at Liverpool than he was at City.... Any better?
Do you work for the FA William?
I have to say i really am dissapointed that we are going for kolo toure, he can't get a game for city, has not play in ages, was suspended for failing a drugs test, is 32, if he was that good wouldn't other top teams be queing for him? I just think is very strange signing, he does not seem to fit in with our plans at all, to me it just seems desperate for some reason.

But wherever he went he'd be on a lot less than he was at City. Their wages are crazy - £100,000 a week for Wayne Bridge!
Whoever Toure plays for next he won't be on City wages anymore. Whatever Liverpool are offering him it will probably be the best offer he'll get. Who else wants him?

He won't leave the north west because of his kids. Narrows the potential suitors right down.
We need experience in the squad, we need winners, Leaders. For me, he's a top free transfer that can do a good job for a season or two.
There's no risk.
I would prefer if we went for somebody like diego godin to partner agger or promote somebody like wisdom.
i understand what you are saying about toure but we can't take on a player just because he does not want to leave a certain area, and we just got rid of joe coles wages and now we are doing the same with toure, joe cole was experienced and look at that situation, i just think we are signing him for the sake of it.
If we do sign him and he does well I will hold my hands up

So he'll have his wages cut from what he was on at City. Thank you sir.
We call that a pay cut where I come from old boy.

The new scouts must think he's got plenty left in the tank and Rodgers agrees. FSG won't be breaking their transfer policy for any old duffer mate. Everyone involved must be convinced.
Cole was on 90,000 a week at Liverpool. Toure will be on 50,000 max if rumours are true.
