FE clearly isn't going to be happy until the Liverpool team is almost entirely made up of flash-Harry Latinos. And yet Liverpool is situated in the fairly grim north-west of England; not every practitioner of 'samba football' is going to be able to make the cultural transition. Up to now it's been shown that on the whole you need a bit of British grit alongside the foreign maestros in your team to do really well, and every productively successful (i.e. Premier League title/Champions League/UEFA Cup/Europa League/F.A. Cup winners) EPL team has had that (Arsenal - Adams, Dixon, Bould, Parlour, Winterburn; Chelsea - Wise, Hughes, Lampard, Terry, Cahill; Man Utd: Bruce, Pallister, Ferdinand, Scholes, etc.)
Joe Allen, Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Glen Johnson... British grit? you are having a laugh... try changing the "gr" with "sh" They don't compare to any of the players you have just mentioned..

As for british grit £35m will get you a nice big piece of Andy Carroll british grit.. great value Rolleyes

Also what you just said is nonsense as a number of the players I said who shouldn't be at Liverpool are actually Latino players..

You're right, they don't (although I think Lallana has the potential to develop further). And that may be symptomatic of a more worrying problem.

Carroll should never have gone to Liverpool (just as Veron and Forlan should never have gone to United; sometimes, for reasons that can't be fully fathomed, a player is unable to gel with a particular club). Still, he's back vying for regular starts, and are West Ham currently in the Prem's top four, seven places above the club he left, so he's probably well on the way to putting his Anfield debacle behind him.
the only 3 british players i wouldnt mind seeing at liverpool are james milner, ross barkley and joe hart... instead wasting so much money on somewhat random players who rodgers just sends out on loan
What makes a team gel is complex and subtle and hard to put your finger on. If Lallana and Lovren and Lambert were doing the business at Southampton, why are they struggling to do it at Liverpool? Why was Carroll such a hit on Tyneside and such a miss on Merseyside? My local team, Villa, were punching above their weight just a few seasons ago, with Ashley Young and Stewart Downing and James Milner at the heart of things. Those players have since been split up, and only Milner has retained credibility. Young has taken a lashing off United fans, and Downing got similar treatment at Liverpool, and has only just started to re-establish himself at West Ham. Players don't go bad overnight; which suggests it's not what they are so much as where they're put. A good football team is almost always a more-than-the-sum-of-its-parts thing.

Barkley is never gonna happen .
What has happened to this thread... since G&P, Mitchell and Truth disappeared it has turned into the Fernandez moaning thread.

Since I started joining in the LFC thread I don't think I've seen him say anything good/positiveHuh

Apart from the QPR & Real home games we've shown some , not a lot but some , good points in all the games we've played , but if you ask him we haven't done anything positive all season and he'd only be happy if we sack Rodgers sell everybody and start the process over again , which would take years .
Pyro how about you have an opinion on something?.. when is the last time you posted an opinion of your own about something liverpool related?

Or would you rather just sit back and find an oppourtunity to have a cheap dig at me, pretty spineless huh?
