I'd be more than happy if Martinez gets the job. It could be a fresh, vibrant, attractive new Liverpool with him at the helm. Give him the licence to go and get whatever players he likes and let him stamp his philosophy on the squad. Do that and i think he'll get us first of all back in the champions league and then challenging for the league title in a season or two.
Director of football... I'm neither here nor there with it if i'm honest. Someone like Van Gaal working with a man like Martinez could be a nice blend of youth and experience or a complete nightmare depending on how they work together.
Liverpool Football Club should be challenging for the premiership every season. It's where the club belongs.

Come on you of all people who I talk with on here should know we've done fuck all especially on a consistent basis to even suggest we should be expecting to challenging for the Premier League title, we finished second once & throughout that season just enjoyed being up there, maybe the same as Newcastle & the top 4 this season, not expecting but hoping the possibility is real enough. Away from that we've never looked like a title challenging side.
The last of those 18 came in the old First Division & since our 5th European Cup we've had a decent run when we've been in it but not even qualified for 3 seasons now, & next year will be just as tough, but I think a fresh start & a fit squad we should have a great chance to get back in it.
