There was due diligence but New York State has been probing them for nearly a year and had to check more than 30,000 pages , we probably checked them out for a few weeks which is the normal time period.
Great news lets hope skrtle and agger do the same

Granted the deal is worth $130mil over 4 years but if the bank was to go belly up,what then?not to mention all the non football related nonsense that is inevitably going to surround the club.
The deal with Standard Chartered was agreed and signed when H & G were owers of the club. It was negotiated by Cristian Purslow. No fault of FSG. It wouldnt be that much of a surprise if it went tits up after that lot signed the deal.
I take your point Master Yoda, but I stand by my point! Whether H & G, FSG or even HMV, more unwanted & non football related nonsense surrounding the club just before the start of the season is surely not beneficial to the club.
I just hope standard chartered are willing to take the flak they will surely receive from Liverpool fans considering there holier than thou stance during the Suarez incident.(those in glass houses & all that.)
Any way, moving on,here's Luis interview on signing new contract.

Liverpool team to play Gomel
Reina,Johnson,Skrtel,Agger,Enrique.
Lucas,Shelvey,Gerrard
Downing,Borini,Suarez
Reports suggest Joe Allen has handed in a transfer request and considering I've just seen him drinking a beverage at the Liverpool Gomel match,I think it might just be a matter of time before he signs.
Back to europa league match:A substantial improvement on the first match with quik incisive football and end product.
Borini worked well on the left hand side and took his goal well, downing had a reasonably decent performance, but the stand out performances were Johnson, who scored a blinding goal and Suarez who at times was unplayable.
All in all a very good team performance in what looks like a 4-2-3-1 system.
8/10
Stevie and Suarez were brilliant. Excited by the way we played earlier, they were an average side but the lads looked sharp. Like how we're set up and with Joe Allen in with Lucas we'll be stronger again. Impressed with Borini, took his goal brilliant, he gets himself into good positions to score, he's quick and looks a finisher to me.
Knife between the teeth... BOSS!
