I know Ezequiel Lavezzi a decent player but I don't think we need a another new striker especially if we sign 2 wingers then we'll have Dirk Kuyt added to Luiz Suarez, Andy Carroll & hopefully Dani Pacheco, & Lavezzi has been linked with a lot of clubs.
I've never seen this Sylvain Marveaux kid but Milan Jovanović looked good in Belgium 52 in 116... No seriously, if he does come on a free I think he'll be backup to bolster the squad as I can't see us looking outside of the Premier League for the 2 wingers as they're the 2 players we need the most after the signing of the 'big lad' so we can't afford to take any chances if we're gonna spend big money it needs to be spent on proven players such as Ashley Young, Adam Johnson, James Milner, Stewart Downing & Lee Chung-Yong.
You heard it here first!!!
Ahhh,
Lee Chung-Yong I know we were linked to him last summer when we hadnt a pot to piss in and Woy was in charge so i've kept an eye on him since. He was injured a bit earlier in the season but his form is too hit & miss in the Premier League for me. He'll have 3 or 4 poor enough games before he'll have one very good game and it's usually against one of the "lesser" teams in the league. Having said that, he has around 4 goals and 7 or 8 assists so that's pretty ok. I'd welcome him but i'd probably prefer if it was as back-up to a "bigger name"
The other foreign names being linked are Edin Hazard (LM), Aly Cissokho (LB), Dimitri Payet (LM), Fabio Coentrao (LB).
All these rumours and players being linked is all bollock talk by the papers in my opinion. They know we have big dough to spend and are inventing stories if you ask me. If it was any other season i'd tend to believe these rumours as our business was splashed all over the tabloid rags. But since FSG have come in and Kenny has come back things are being done "in-house" and that's the way it should be done
Nothing is announced until the deal is signed. We've seen this with Carroll signing (came out of nowhere and wasnt on a newspaper til the day he signed), when Roy got sacked and Kenny came in (although it was needed, it came out of the blue and NOBODY expected Dalglish to get the job), the new contracts of Kuyt, Lucas etc were all done under the radar and also the "partnership" with LeBron James. Yep, it seems the club is being run very well, and things are once again being done "The Liverpool Way" which can only bode well for the future.
Aye lad you may be right on the Korean chap as I haven't watched him that close but remember he's only 22 so he's still learning & we are a better side than Bolton so he'd be playing with better players.
As for the paper bollocks, like you say everything is being done in house so how do they know we've even got any money to spend as everyone seems to think even us (Ok we've probably got a bit) but the papers going on with all this 20 deals in & out is just a bit silly, let's see.
Deffo's
Paul Konchesky, Christian Poulsen, Emiliano Insua, Nabil El Zhar, Philipp Degen, Alberto Aquilani, Milan Jovanović
Maybe
Brad Jones, Joe Cole, Maxi, David Ngog, Sotirios Kyrgiakos, Fabio Aurelio, David Amoo, Daniel Ayala, Stephen Darby.
Thats 16 with maybe a few more of the young lads like Nathan Eccleston & Thomas Ince may think at the age of 19/20 eventhough the young lads are being given a chance there's been new signings in our positions so maybe it's time to move on???
So there may be 20 in's & out's but as far as the first team goes there may only be 4 or 5 signings that will make an impact next season, they'll be the two wingers maybe a left back & centre half but with the emergence of Martin Kelly (RB/CB), John Flanagan & Jack Robinson we may only look to buy 2 wingers & then go for the likes of this Sylvain Marveaux guy while giving Joe Cole & Maxi another season??? Who knows it probably will be a busy summer but how busy remains to be seen.
As long as we get 2 wingers from within the premier League then I'd be happy to keep most of this squad for atleast next season, Maxi, Cole & Aurelio aren't bad players given everyone will be starting fresh at the begining of a new season & there's also Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson, Daniel Agger & Martin Kelly who people now talk about as a first teamer rather than a youngster like Jay & the others. Like I said next season should be a good one... I hate fifth position!!!
Another great win today. I wonder where we would be if the King was with us at the start of the season.
I can't believe Peter Andre Marriner gave Chelsea that mysterious goal yesterday I could've done with Tottenham winning that game, 5th is a no no for me!!!
I know he played for us & all but Kevin Keegan is a right tool on ESPN, he thinks Luis Suarez remindes him of Tino Asprillia, & the squad we've got at the minute isn't good enough to be a top 4 side eventhough since Kenny has taken over we're 3rd in the form table only behind the top 2. Oh yeah & that Tottenham & City not only have better squads than us but are also richer than us... Richer, City yeah but where does he get Tottenham from, everyone else is saying that if Tottenham don't get into the European Cup then they're gonna lose their best players (I don't think so!!!) yet old Yorkshire Geordie boy Kev doesn't think our current squad is good enough to be a top 4 side, how the fuck does he come up with this shit!!!
Just heard that Sami Hyypia's calling it a day at the end of the season at the age of 37, £2.6m & 10 years at Anfield he was no doubt on of the greatest signings in the history of the Premier League.

hey mitch, you forgot to put his league championships on
Sami was told there's a job waiting for him at Liverpool on his retirement.Hope he still gets it under the new lads.
Liverpool Legend.
Yes Sami is a Liverpool Legend. I agree 100% that he is one of the the greatest signings in Premier League History. I hope he comes back to the club one day.
Sami was a legend. A gentleman off the pitch by all accounts and a leader on the pitch as well as being a bloody brilliant defender. A snitch at £2.6 million when you think about some of the prices defenders are bought for these days.
