25% of £48,000,000 = £12,000,000 = £36,000,000 = £1,000,000 profit. I'm pretty sure this is right.
Lets hope he stays for a good few year because if he turns out to be another Robbie Keane then Newcastle will make a shit load of money off us if we sell him next January, especially if we sell him back to them
I'm pretty confident he be a good buy by this time next season.
The bottom line is unless anyone's actually seen the contract agreement, then we can't be sure of the facts...
My information is the initial bid was £30 million, which was rejected. Liverpool went back with success based incentives that would take the deal to in excess of £35 million, which was also rejected. Carroll then handed in a transfer request and the deal was done.
Transfers that result in the full amount being paid in advance, like Torres to Chelsea, Ronaldo to Real Madrid and Robinho to Manchester City are rare. I don't believe the Carroll deal is either in this case, seeing as the boy's injured.
Most deals are done in installments with success based incentives. For example, when Darren Bent joined Aston Villa from Sunderland last month, Tottenham were still owed money from the initial transfer to Sunderland.
PS - Great win at Stamford Bridge yesterday. Apart from the odd chance for Chelsea, it was fairly comfortable. Far more movement on/off the ball and a more suitable formation has been the key so far under Kenny, which has also been the key to Meireles finding his Porto form.

"My information"... Come on Wolfe lad that information was straight from Sky Sports News
The reason Liverpool wouldn't let Torres discuss personal terms with Chelsea was because thay wanted to make sure the Carroll deal was done before they sold Torres & the full £35m was payed upfront as was the £50m thats why both deals got done on the day instead of dragging on till the summer.
There isn't any installments & the add-ons are the 25% sell on fee this came fron a journo who has very good contacts inside football clubs.
I'm not sure on the add-ons with the Torres deal but they are said to be based on Chelsea winning the Champions League I don't know if it's this season or next or either & Torres goal record although I'm not sure if this is Premier League or Europe???
I have to say that its suprising how poor Liverpool have been this season, i mean look at what the rest of the league has had to put up with, they should be walking this league!.
1. Reina - Best Goalkeeper in the world.
2. Glen Johnson - Best rightback in the world
3. Jamie Carragher - Best centreback in the league
4. Daniel Agger - Best young centreback in the world
5. Paul Konchesky - Top 2 best left backs in the league along with Cole
6. Dirk Kuyt - Best right midfielder in the league
7. Raul Meireles - 2nd best central midfielder in the league (Gerrard first)
8. Steven Gerrard - Best player in the world
9. Joe Cole - Best attacking midfielder in the league
10. David Ngog - Best young striker in Europe

Spot the difference
Chelsea's flag even sports the design of the Shankly Gates which forms part of our club crest

Oh dear, oh dear...
Let's get one thing straight, buster. I'm someone you've never met and know very little about, so you're in no position to make a comment like that. How the hell would you know what kind of connections I've generally got?
If you'd left that part out of your post, then there would be no problem. I was just having a debate. Instead, you've chosen to make the kind of snide personal comment that would be expected from a typical football fanboy.
PS - It certainly wasn't Sky Sports either, wiseguy.

Of course you're not sure, boy. As I said originally
"The bottom line is unless anyone's actually seen the contract agreement, then we can't be sure of the facts..."
Regardless of where you, me or anyone else got their information, it doesn't guarantee any of them are right. There are plenty of examples out there of deals people thought they knew the facts about, but later turned out there were unrevealed clauses in the contracts.
Best to just leave it at that...

Lol i know mate. But to be fair carragher did have an excellent game against Chelsea. That sliding challenge he put in to stop Torres from possibly scoring on his first game back was a tackle and half!!! And nope i dont know the other LFC forums only this one. Besides I'm an arsenal fan
I like how the thread title clearly says Liverpool FC yet every man & his cat wants to click in & try & be funny, this just goes to show how not very supportive they are of their own teams as this is the only team based thread on this site & also goes to show the passion we have when an LFC forum page is widely active on a website like this.... Well I guess the lyrics are spot on as we're clearly NOT walkin alone!!!.............. Watch them line up to respond
