Liverpool finally get themselves a keeper, but it's cost them a world record £67 million. Although £75 million is being mentioned on twitter
Subject to a medical
Welcome to Anfield Alisson Becker (is he related to Boris) who according to Sky Sports News has agreed terms on a 5 year deal & is subject to medical.Twice the price of his Brazilian counterpart Ederson is crazy money even though SSN rolled out better stats comparing the two over the course of the past season. With the old saying 'if you don't concede goals you don't lose games' I suppose it was only a question of time that transfer prices for goalkeepers where going to be on par with top strikers.
On some bad news for LFC the extent of Oxlaide-Chamberlain's injury is far worse with confirmation that he'll be out for the whole of next season.Get well soon Ox.
It looks as though Liverpool have clawed back some of the huge outlay for Alisson by agreeing to sell 3rd choice keeper Danny Ward to Leicester for £10 million.I heard on the grapevine that Liverpool wanted to sell Ward in a BOGOF deal where you buy Ward & you get Karius for free.
Apparently Liverpool have been scouring the country from the top of the Premiership to the bottom of League 2 to strengthen their team & they still can't find a buyer for Karius.
A great 4 -1 victory this evening in the pre-season friendly against Man Utd over in America with goals from Mane,Sturridge,Ojo & a sublime bicycle kick by Shaqiri on his debut. They may only be friendlies but beating Man City 2-1 earlier in the week & following up with this win against Man Utd sends a statement of intent for this coming season.
I'd love to have seen the look on Gary & Phil Neville's faces as they witnessed Shaqiri's top-drawer bicycle kick against their beloved Man Utd on the back of them slating Shaqiri for his poor attitude whilst playing for relegation bound Stoke last season (even though he was their top goal scorer, had most assists & was voted their player of the season).
Wonder how many of the four big trophies Liverpool will win this coming season??
None?? Oh well, same hype this time next year then....
What a fantastic goal from Daniel Sturridge yesterday to equalise against Chelsea, that has to be goal of the month let alone a contender for goal of the season(so far)
Better team this year. In years gone when they conceded the 1st they lost.
They didn't play well but a draw is better for them than Chelsea
Men are doing great, the women are abysmal, 1 win in three games and last season we beat Reading 6-1 but today they lost 1-0-what is going on with our ladies??
Shit-the-bed they were fookin awful last night against Napoli & were lucky to come away with a 1-0 defeat. They all looked & played like a boxer who had run out of steam halfway through a 12 round fight & were floundering from the first 10 minutes into the match.
The passing was absolutely awful & they seemed to be playing like a group of complete strangers from the off & you can tell a team is in trouble when they continuously pass back to the keeper (that Liverpool were doing all night) as a means of playing the ball up-field.For me Salah looks burnt-out which has knocked his confidence & probably needs a spell on the bench & brought on when needed. And whilst Mane is a talent with pace to burn he is at times an infuriating player to watch as more often than not he is holds onto the ball far to long (a bit of a greedy fucker) & instead of passing his way out of trouble he thinks he can dribble his way around 2,3,4+ players.
As for Jordan Henderson himself I just don't know what he brings to any team as for me he just seems content in sitting in front of the back four offer virtually no attacking presence as for every time he receives the ball in the oppositions half he tends to kill the momentum & pass the ball back into his own half. When James Milner has shaken off his old Left-Back position & slots back into midfield & at 33 years young he commands the midfield a lot more than Henderson it doesn't take rocket-science to work out Henderson isn't the solution.
