Citeh fans whinging about their draw!
Cheeky gets...you entitled barstewards have had piss easy draws in every Cup competition this season.
Would seem that if we beat Porto and Utd beat Barca(very unlikely) we would meet them in the semi-finals so assuming Utd lost and Liverpool won it would be a real clash of the titans Liverpool v Barcelona-now that would be ONE hell of a game!
Good grief! Liverpool don't have give us fans palpitations at times. Mo Salah just doesn't sound like he is firing on all cylinders again, he seems to have lost his shooting boots - which considering the next games coming up isn't good and it will take him ages to get that 50th goal but I believe he WILL do it before the season ends. Mané does it again, great series of goals he's scored and Milner made up for his howler by scoring the penalty to make 2-1 and that's how it finished and now the pressure goes back on Man City-I cannot believe that Utd will capitulate to their deadly home rivals.
We didn't particularly play well today but grinding out a win like that under such circumstances was imperative. It was an un-characteristical error from Van Dijk one of the best CB's in the world with that sloppy header back to Allison instead of just clearing the ball that led to the equalizer. But Salah was infuriating me at times playing with that tunnel-vision mentality obsessing over getting that 50th goal by going it alone instead of making key passes to players in better positions which did get picked up by Carragher & the other fellow commentator. But at least we're back on top & it was a potential banana skin avoided.
Two games in a week is quite a push but then again City have the same thing but they will always be before us, but they will have more pressure on them NEXT weekend in the FA Cup Semi-finals. Liverpool are playing well against Tottenham but they have Son on the bench and I wouldn't think it will be too long before Pochetino brings him on. Kane is still a danger as is Eriksen. I've not heard who Liverpool have on the bench but I feel we need another goal to make it relatively safe and I would love it if were Salah to score it.
Oh my word!
that was squeaky-bum time, my old jam tart was going full tilt. An own goal from Llorente gave Liverpool the win we desparately needed to win and to play 4-2-4 was really bold by Klopp. Phew! that's over with and still Southampton to come Friday. I need a lie down in a darkened room.
To quote the old saying "It doesn't matter how it goes in as long as it goes in" & Alderweireld may just have put himself at the top of our transfer-list in the Summer with that own goal. It was good to see a smile back on Salah's face assisting Alderweireld with that header. The signs were ominous when I read Milner & Henderson were our midfield pairing considering whenever they play together our midfield gets overrun & outplayed Spurs seized on that.If we had Spur's midfield pair I reckon we would have had the Title sown up by now. We're back on top without playing well but another good result is a must in the next game on Friday against Southampton at St Marys another potential banana skin.
You have to admire the way Liverpool's forwards have the knack of causing every team confusion in the latter stages. I love the way they keep going, much the same as my team does, right to the end. Salah made the winning goal and Lloris probably should have done better with the handling, but Liverpool still deserved to win that for me.
I hope Liverpool can win the league. I want them to. I think Manchester City can still slip somewhere, plus they've still got the Champions League and the FA Cup as possible distractions. City could get the Champions League, Liverpool can have the Premier League and my boys can have the FA Cup. That way everyone's a winner.
I think the title race may go to the wire.
If it does then my lot will have a say at Anfield on the last day of the season.
By that stage my lot may or may not have something meaningful to play for either on that weekend or possibly the next or possibly both or maybe neither.
Yeah I think that has covered all bases in the most non commital way possible
.
So your lot are Wolves eh? Good side, can frustrate sides, not easy to play against. I honestly thought Salah had got his 50th goal yesterday but it turned out to be an own goal-ah well, he is still looking good for it and at least he is smiling again. It is still all to play for, but maybe THiS season could be OUR season. On a more sombre note, the 30th anniversary of Hillsborough is approaching and still waiting for the outcome of the very long inquiry into the disaster and whether Duckenfield should be charged.
