Well if ye signed Dempsey he could play up front, because at times last season he played up front on his own for Fulham
"Lump it forward you say.... Don't make me slap you Jamie."
I'm hearing Liverpool may make a bid for Swansea midfielder Joe Allen. A good player, but what I don't understand is that I thought there was an agreement between Liverpool and Swansea that when Rodgers went to Liverpool that he could not sign any Swansea players. Also Fulham have said there have not yet been any bids for Dempsey
I thought the
"Clingy" comment would provoke a reaction form some & I'm not surprised it came from you mate
. From my point of view a few goals at the end of the season doesn't get you that kind of status no matter where or who they came against, but as we all know the feelings are a lot different in the city so I definitely see where you’re coming from.
On the Dempsey thing, we should've just kept Maxi, same type of player at the same age but with a bit of a personal point to prove. As I said the lure of his boyhood club must have been too much but if it was Rodgers who said he wasn't needed then I think that's a bit like when Rafa let Danny Murphy go the season he arrived, big mistake, ok so we got Xabi Alonso but still you see what I'm sayin.

Feel as if i jump on your posts sometimes mate and i feel bad about it, i tell myself, leave it, just move on lol It's Mitchell, a proper sound lad, but you throw just the right size of bait in sometimes... I could swear it's deliberate!
Rodgers on Carroll earlier
"There has been a lot written and spoken about him but first and foremost Andy is a Liverpool player," said the boss.
"To consider a loan period for someone the club spent £35million on isn't something we're looking to do at this moment in time.
"Andy will be the same as every other player - if there's ever an offer that comes in we'd look at it as a club and see if it's going to be worthwhile for the club and the team as a whole.
"The club invested £35million in him. People talk about whether he can fit into my style or not, but if you're a club and you spend £35million on a player you'd like to think he can fit into whatever style the team plays.
"He's a good player. He'll join the rest of the group next week and we'll take it from there."
Let the big man get on with his pre season now.
That may be all well and good but the way he's being treated is abysmal , nobody should be treated this way.
Rodgers isn't just coming out with these statements, he's getting asked questions about Andy. He's answered them honestly and pretty fairly for me. Like i said yesterday, if Andy was sold before Rodgers had a chance to work with him then i'd say he was poorly treated by the club but the manager's made it clear, he will be on the tour.
Andy Carroll's been singled out for special attention too often in his career so far and i think Brendan's trying to get the media out of the habit of doing that. Kenny tried to do it as well. How many times did we hear him say " Andy's no different from anyone else" When constantly quizzed about Carroll last season.
Think Rodgers is trying to protect the lad in his own way and fire him up at the same time. I could be completely wrong but it's the way i see it.
Go and f***ing show them Andy! Make yourself a reds legend kid.
On a side note how about WE try to sign Van Persie , he'd only be about £15 mill so why not.
