Star Wars: Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
My favourite entry in the franchise. I say that with confidence as I haven't yet seen Force Awakens or Rogue One, the opinion may change after I watch those. But for the moment, I consider Episode 5 to be a thrilling space adventure filled with so many different elements - hope, revenge, obsession, betrayal and defiance. Han, Leia, Chewbacca, C3PO and R2D2 are pursued by the Empire while Luke begins Jedi training with Yoda, before everybody meets in Cloud City for a very revealing climactic battle. With the remastered and extra scenes it looks even better than when it first appeared in cinemas. Brilliant space epic. 5/5

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and ignored most of the plot holes/missing scenes that might have explained the Phantasm a bit more.
Also watched Captain America-Civil War, followed by Dr Strange, both great movies that made up for the disappointment of Age Of Ultron.
Spider Man was the highlight of Civil War, can't wait for "Homecoming" and more Marisa Tomei as Aunt May
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of The Clones, for the film was a bit of mixed bag but a improvement over the previous. The film looks stunning on Blu Ray along with the film score I think it starts off good drops off at the middle but picks up at the end. The biggest problems with the film pacing, a little too much CGI and the dialogue when Anakin starts going on about sand I rolled my eyes now I don't blame Hayden Christiansen because films his done before this he was very good him whining was a little too much but remember Luke was like that in the new hope also the way palpating is worming his way into power very smart. George Lucas is good at telling a story but when it comes dialogue and directing I don't think it's his biggest strength hence why empire strikes back is better written then the new hope. Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015)
I'm sorry to say I don't feel it was completely worth the wait in me finally watching this. There's some terrific visuals and sound editing, particularly the X-Wing flight sequences in the film's climactic battle. I can see why it won accolades for production in terms of special effects. However, overall this is still a big disappointment. Some of the characters are dull, the plot is very lightweight, and the film has a rushed feel to it, as if they were trying to cram far too much inside two hours. Now some of that I can forgive. But what I absolutely cannot forgive is that the storyline's continuity, the expected continuity that we know of the Star Wars universe, is virtually non-existent. Kylo Ren is not Han Solo's son FFS - and Han's son isn't called Ben. Han's sons were supposed to be Jacen Solo (later became Darth Caedus) and Anakin Solo. Ben was Luke's son in the books, magazines, games etc. They've ripped most of the natural flow out of the story and that was a big mistake. The final scene sucked aswell. Rey hands Luke the blue lightsaber. That's impossible - the blue lightsaber was lost in Cloud City when Vader cuts his hand off in
Empire! He constructed a new, green lightsaber remember?! I'm not sure what to expect from episode VIII now. Just feel really disappointed. Only a

The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin(1978) Set in 18th century China,directed by Chia-Liang Lu and starring his brother Chia-Hui Liu as San Te,who in revenge for his family being killed by the Manchus, joins the Shaolin Buddhist monastery to learn Kung Fu skills. An exciting film and interesting too, particularly in the monastery scenes where our hero learns the disciplines and skills of being a monk. Slightly let down by the film being dubbed. 7/10
The House Across The Lake(1954)
An American man living in the UK is enticed into a sceme by a beautiful but deadly women,to murder her husband.A well crafted crime drama both written and directed by Ken Hughes and featuring good performances from Alex Nicol,Sid James and Hilary Brooke.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers - 7/10. A classic musical, hadn't seen it since I was a kid, it was fun.
Sausage Party - 4/10. Honestly, I found it unfunny for the most part, and the few good parts couldn't save it. I wish I hadn't bothered.
Knock Knock (2015)
A home invasion movie that puts a different spin on the genre. Partygoers Ana De Armas and Lorenza Izzo interrupt home-alone dad Keanu Reeves one rainy night and end up turning his world upside down. It's a sleazy, low-budget movie that should be a horror but instead ends up being unintentionally funny. It will cheer you up if you want a good laugh - but of course that's not the idea. Still it earns it's one mark thanks to the women looking sublime in a shower. Apart from that - trash.

The 39 Steps(1935) Directed by Alfred Hitchcock. John Hannay (superbly played by Robert Donat) finds himself pursued by the police and enemy agents when a friendly agent is killed in his flat. Don't worry about the thin plotline and the spy storyline, that's just the device(the McGuffin as Hitch called it),to place a witty,interesting script,fine performances(John Laurie, Peggy Ashcroft, Helen Haye,Godfrey Tearle, Lucie Mannheim) and various set pieces on. The scenes with Donat and the wonderful Madeleine Carroll are especially good. The film is book ended by excellent music hall scenes featuring Wylie Watson as Mr Memory. 9/10
D.O.A (1950) In many ways one of the darkest of the film noirs made from the 40s onwards, as Edmund O'Brien convincingly plays a man who discovers he's been fatally poisoned and spends the 1 hr 20 mins of the film finding out who the murderer is. Beginning at the end, at a police station where O'Brien reports the crime, then going into flashback mode, in various locations, office, doctors, jazz club(particularly good),an empty factory and meeting a gallery of mostly untrustworthy characters(Luther Adler, Neville Brand, William Ching, Lynn Baggett), against a backdrop of good location work in LA and San Francisco. The relationship between O'Brien & Pamela Britton provides a welcome emotional kick in the film. 8.5/10
