La Belle et la Bete(1946)

Jean Cocteau's magical film combines Jeanne Marie Leprince de Beaumont's story with La Chatte Blanche by Catherine d'Aulnoy(published in 1671)Surreal and gorgeous,Cocteau's film is truly romantic in the best sense of the word.Josette Day is Belle and Jean Mariais is fabulous as the beast.

Extreme Measures (1996) Hugh Grant puts in a decent performance as a doctor in a New York hospital who suspects something is up when a homeless man dies under unusual circumstances. Yes, its one of the those conspiracy thrillers not overly original but as well as Grant, there's a nice sinister turn from the underrated David Morse. There's an OK twist towards the end, and supporting roles for Gene Hackman and Sarah Louise Parker 6/10

Creed (2015) One of the stronger entries in the Rocky series as Rocky relents and trains Apollo Creed's son. Occasionly there are predictable moments in the script and story, but there is a chemistry between Stallone & Michael B Jordan, Stallone puts in a dignified performance acting his age and the fight scenes are exciting 7/10

Odds Against Tomorrow(1959) An excellent film noir directed by Robert Wise as ex cop Ed Begley organises a bank heist involving Harry Belafonte & Robert Ryan, who plays a racist career criminal, this providing the fireworks when the heist takes place, this is well staged but doesn't take much screen time, as the film is also a character study/drama as they go through various crisises, Belafonte's mainly financial and Ryan wondering where his life went. The performances are excellent, there is good support from Shelley Winters & Gloria Grahame, and there's effective use of New York locations 8/10

Shadow of a Doubt(1943)

Joseph Cotten as Uncle Charlie and Teresa Wright as his adoring niece in this story if a small town girl slowly realising that her beloved uncle is a psychotic serial killer.Thornton Wilder was one of the screenwriters on this.Also noted for being Hitchcock's personal favourite of all the films he made.

The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm(1962)

Laurence Harvey and Karlheinz Bohm as Wilhelm and Jacob,the brothers Grimm in this cinematic spectacular.Henry Levin directed the framing story of them writing their famous tales and George Pal directed the fairy tales.With delightful stop motion animation by Wah Chang and Gene Warren in the George Pal tradition.

Fort Apache(1948) the first of director John Ford's so called cavalry trilogy as a cavalry commander played by Henry Fonda comes into conflict with his men after taking over the fort, just as an Apache War brews. This conflict is one of this film's stronger suits as are the domestic scenes, fort dances etc, which are well handled. Less successful are the humorous scenes, sort of slapstick in style which are mainly confined to the first half of the film. Indeed, the film improves as it goes along, Fonda is excellent, John Wayne very good too, and there's support from Ward Bond & Shirley Temple 6.5/10

The Charge Of The Light Brigade(1936) A retelling of the famous charge during the Crimean War, with interesting background information relating to the buildup leading to the charge, and exciting battle scenes, but spoilt by overlong romantic scenes as brothers played by Errol Flynn & Patric Knowles squabble over the affections of Olivia De Havilland. Nigel Bruce does a variation on his old duffer Dr Watson routine 6/10

Inheritant Vice (2014) Joaquin Phoenix as a PI in 1970 LA investigates a disappearance, not that this is important, it is the acting( Pheonix, Josh Brolin, Benicio Del Toro, Reece Witherspoon, Owen Wilson), the characterisation, the 1970 LA vibe and the voiceover from Joanna Newsom. These are all compelling and means I will be returning to this film 7.5/10

Batman vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice

3 points I'll make:

1) Fight scene between Bats & Suups bit disappointing for me...

2) Final fight scene makes up for it...

3) Wonder Woman....she's a bit of a sort...

Adding a 4th: Is it wrong of me to say l'd do Superman's mum (#Don't judge me)

You can't be judged for lovin' a bit of Diane Lane mate...it'd be more wrong not to

The reason why Wonder Woman's not in for very long roughly 20 mins is because they didn't want to have too many characters taking away screen time from Batman and Superman, her role was to give you a taste of what her character will be like in her own movie next year they didn't fully show case her powers again we'll see that in her movie.
The fight scenes between Batman and Superman were cut for the cinema release expect to see much more of it and it to be more brutal along with some other DC characters which I can't name to appear in the directors cut version of the film on Blu Ray.
