Widely considered to be Buster Keaton's masterpiece of silent comedy with the great man playing a confederate train driver during the Civil War,who pursues the Northerners that highjacked his locomotive.
Not to be confused with a porn/fetish film of the same name this film is focused around a cash point or Automated Teller Machine (ATM).This thriller/horror is about 3 office pals David,Corey & Emily (played by the lovely Alice Eve) on their way home after a late-night Xmas office party while short of money they stop off at ATM hut like building based in the middle of a desolate car-park.On looking outside they spot a hooded figure watching them from a distance, unaware of this shadowy figure's motives are until they witness a passer-by getting beaten to death & the fact they all left their mobile phones in the car in essence points to the trio being trapped in the hut unable to call for help & a psycho on the outside trying to break-in.
This is an okay film that has a claustrophobic feel to it with 3 people being trapped in a small hut pretty much throughout the duration of the film. The film tends to feel a bit long winded & run out of steam at times & the fact that the identity of the hooded figure is never revealed nor his reasoning irked me.5/10.
The villains in this film better then the first one only thing I don't like is more comedic then the first one and watching the Donner Cut I prefer that one abs here's why.
With the normal version you don't understand why hates Jol El and obliviously hate Kal El aka Superman as he Jol El jailed him and his henchmen men, Brando isn't in the normal cut so they use his mum as Brando wanted more money so when Superman losses his powers his mum helps get rid of them but when he tries to get them back he calls out to his father in the Donner cut the scene so much more powerful.
The White House fight scene is much longer in the Donner cut and Zod actually kills people in there along with the Superman Vs Zod and co fight scene is much longer. You see what happens to Lex after Zod is defeated, all in all the Donner Cut does a better job of fleshing out tre story.
I didn't like in the normal cut were Superman seems to have new powers like making copies of himself and throwing the superman symbol also Zod and co seem to have new powers too. Did any one find it creepy that a powerless Clark Kent sleeps with Lois but he kisses her at the end wipes her memory another power he doesn't actually have lol.
^^^ one thing I forgot to mention people complain that in Man of Steel Superman kills Zod yet people forget he kills Zod in Superman II it's done in nicer and even Lois kills that woman lol.
The Conjuring 2 - 8/10 great sequel and one of the best horror films I've seen in a long time, unlike most of todays horror movies it does not rely on lashings of gore and special effects, instead it creates a really creepy atmosphere and provides plenty of jumps.
Sleep Tight(2011) The affable building concierge turns out to have a sinister side.... An occasionally far fetched but generally, a subtle, creepy, unsettling horror thriller with a complex, mostly understated central performance from Luis Tosar. The contrasting dark and light cinematography used in different scenes is excellent and the supporting acting is good too. It would have interesting to see how Hitchcock would have tackled the material, but I fear an underwhelming modern Hollywood remake. Also starring Marta Etura,Alberto San Juan,Petra Martinez, Iris Almeida(a fine child actress) and Manel Dueso. 7.5/10
An insightful fly on the wall documentary following Usain Bolt's preparations for the Olympic Games in Rio.The man himself comes across as a very warm, charming and funny character but it also highlighted his extreme dedication to the training and the strain he puts on his body which has made him the greatest sprinter of all time.
This Is The End(2013) Various celebrities(Seth Rogan,Jonah Hill,James Franco,Craig Robinson,Jay Baruchel and Danny McBride all playing themselves) face up to The Apocalypse in LA. Coincidentally coming out around the same time as the British comedy The World's End, which was on a similar subject, this isn't as amusing, but within the mayhem, there are some funny moments, and the special effects are impressive too. Other stars as themselves include Emma Watson(very good), Rihanna and Michael Cera. 6/10
