Still had its issues, but they were almost insignificant due to how much better this was than other version/cut. It didn't feel like you'd just watched a film that long, and all the additions were welcome, I found myself thinking why a lot, why the fuck wasn't this in the other one. I don't think it deserves to be fawned over, like some critics are doing, but it was solid, the kind of movie that helps rather than hinders franchises/movie universes.
Ive read a few negative reviews on rotten tomatoes and i get the feeling they havent watched it and are just being negative... one review said it was much better than the other version but only gave it 2.5/5 and she gave whedons one 3/5... some critics are dumb
First of all do I think it’s better then the theatrical cut bottom line yes, the problems bring with that one cgi in places, tons of stuff cut so somethings don’t make and when changing the ton of what’s already been filmed then adding a new director with new footage your not getting the true film. It didn’t help with WB wanting the run time to be 2 hours meaning things being cut out so or effects the story and characters, then toning down the movie so it’s more like marvel film when wrongly or rightly they should have done there own thing, there’s nothing with being inspired by another movie like most super hero films take inspiration from Superman The Movie. Then there
CGI badly Henry Cavill moustache, normal what happens is a studio pays the studio compensation if they need the actor back for reshoots but Paramount said no.
What I liked was the other all story was fleshed out and more meat was put on to the bones same with the characters especially Cyborg,Flash and other characters that weren’t in it al, you could see certain characters were the heart of movie so overall the story had more context and they actually what was going on and character motivations. The actions a lot more brutal, bloody and violent so there’s a clear difference. The humour was there but now it so on the nose, the villains motivations were more clear and made sense and more comic book accurate they looked very different and more menacing and even added couple new villains that could have set up the sequels. With it being nearly 4 hours it doesn’t feel it as the pacing was spot so it didn’t feel long at all, the music was a lot better too.
My only minor gripe is Superman not in it much which is a shame and believe it or not has less lines and screen time then in the cinema version. But over all a big improvement over Joss version of the movie.
