Commando - Directors Cut, so many classic one liners, Matrix: You're a funny guy Sully, I like you. That's why I'm going to kill you last. 9/10.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. 9/10. Downey Jr and Law have made these roles their own. Both of the movies are thoroughly entertaining with just the right balance of humour and action. Would be a shame if a third movie failed to materialise
Star Trek (Reboot), great film and a good reboot the only problem with the film was that i thought the villain was a little weak but apart from a very enjoyable film can't wait for Star Trek Into Darkness got this feeling that Benedict Cumberbatch is gonna be a great villain
9/10.
Se7en (1995)
I always seem compelled to watch this brilliantly dark crime thriller whenever its shown that made instantly recognizable characters for Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman and set David Fincher on his way as a director. It's just so tense from the first minute to the last that its impossible not to keep watching. Gruesome in places so probably not a good idea to watch it while eating.
Excellent film. 5/5
Star Trek Into Darkness. best star trek film ever in my opinion. lots of fantastic action, drama, humour, excitement and surprisingly emotional too. all the regular cast are again brilliant getting the likes of kirk, spock, mccoy, uhura, checkov and sulu absolutely spot on with some great one liners and dialogue between them. sci-fi legend peter weller (Robocop) is good as Admiral Marcus and british actress alice eve is also good as dr carol marcus
benedict cumberbatch is fantastic as john Harrison who wages a one man war against Starfleet and the united federation of planets and is one of the best star trek film villans ever
10/10
Star Trek Into Darkness
You go to the cinema to be entertained, and this fantastic sequel does it in spades. Sci-Fi doesn't get any better than this fantastic sequel. The cast are spot on, the effects are breath taking, it's a huge joyous thrill ride. For me personally, Benedict Cumberbatch steals the movie as the cold hearted villain John Harrison, and gives a fabulous evil performance. An absolute must see. 10/10
^^^ The above posts from Rammy and 4evadionne sound promising. I'm determined to get to the cinema to see Star Trek Into Darkness this weekend. I'm hopeful after reading the guys' reviews, so I'll be back here to edit this post accordingly when I've seen it.
STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS
9/10
usual star trek mix of crash, bang, wallop action mixed with awesome effects and great one liners, and a fair bit of homage to the original movies with carachter tie-ins to previous heroes and villains, the casting is superb with the enterprise crew now becoming familiar to everyone and all seem settled into their carachters, benidict cumberbatch is excellent as the villain, and very good to see peter "robocop" weller make a welcome return to the big screen, the new glamour girl, alice eve, fits in seamlessly, overall a highly enjoyable romp and a must see for all star trek fans, ive seen every star trek movie on the big screen and this is possibly the best one yet,the only reason i didnt give it 10/10 is sometimes there is so much happening so quick its hard to take it all in, but overall a fantastic movie
dancing bear....house party
Superman - The Extended Edition, probably my all time Superman film possibly even super hero, this film had it all great storyline, great effects and of course great acting. Christopher Reeves really made you believe a man could fly and you really believed the way he played Clark Kent and Superman were two different people. Even with the benefits of the film being cleaned up on blu ray the effects still hold up to this day even with the use of CGI these days. I loved the extended edition of the film as its adds extra scenes to part of the film for example Clark running against the train and you see a young Lois Lane on board. Couple facts about Superman, Richard Donner was filming the first and second film back to back till they fired him and got another director Richard Lester to finish off the second film it wasn't till many years later that we got to see the Richard Donner version of Superman 2. The actor who played the teenager version of Clark Kent was dubbed over Reeves voice. Smallville was based on the actually on teen Clark from Superman and Christopher Reeves, Margot Kidder, Marc McClure and Terence Stamp who appeared via a voice have all appeared at some point in Smallville during its Ten Season run. Without this film we wouldn't have the super hero films we have today and really looking forward to the Man of Steel next month really think its gonna put Superman back on map.
9.5/10.
