A very jingoistic and entertaining Japanese fantasy film from Ishiro Honda with fantastic score from Akira Ifukbe.
7/10
Night of the naked dead (2013)
A film that fails on all levels, it's not sexy, not scary, and dialogue so lame it makes home and away look like Shakespeare. To top it off the acting is wooden the cast should be sponsored by creosote.
Definitely the worst film I have seen this year 1/10
Dr Terror's House of Horrors(1965)
Peter Cushing stars as the mysterious Dr.Shreck.Who reads the tarot cards of the five unfortunate passengers he shares a train journey with in this enjoyable anthology film from director Freddie Francis.
7/10
the Way Of The Gun(2001)
Written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, this is a great mix of dark comic humour, crime and action. Two chancers kidnap a young surrogate mother who is carrying the child of a wealthy couple in order to score big on the ransom they demand. It all builds up at a perfect pace to an absolutely amazing shootout, wild west style.
8/10
Horror Express(1973)
An alien intelligence is able to transfer into the bodies of others in this "Who is it?" on the Trans Siberian Express. Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing are stiff upper lipped British scientists and Telly Savalas a Cossack in this entertaining, period sci-fi thriller that was actually made in Spain.
7/10
Traffic(2000)
Steven Soderbergh directs this intense thriller set in the world of drug trafficking from the cartels of Mexico to the rich dealers of America. Featuring terrific performances from Michael Douglas,Catherine Zeta Jones,Benicio Del Toro,Don Cheadle and Dennis Quaid. It thoroughly deserved the awards and fanfare it received at the time it was releasde and remains a perfect example of how a compelling thriller should be made.
