Forbidden Planet 9/10. A sci-fi classic from the 1950's that is still an entertaining joy to watch. There were rumours of a remake but hopefully that idea has been shelved.
I grew up watching films like this on late night tv in my boyhood. One of a series of films from the 50's and 60's that set the ground rules for all good sci-fi movies. Other classics include This Island Earth, It Came from Outer Space, Invaders from Mars, The Thing, Them and of course War of the Worlds.
Sin City
If you haven't seen this already,I strongly urge you to do so.
Mickey Rourke as Marv...Brilliant
9/10
Trouble With The Curve
Clint Eastwood excels playing an aging baseball coach trying to reconcile with his estranged daughter played by lovely Amy Adams. This a real uplifting feelgood movie with sparky dialogue between the two leads and a decent turn from Justin Timberlake. 8/10
Looper, 6/10
It was alright until that massive plot / logic hole at the end.
Brave - 8/10 - Some funny moments.
The Amazing Spider-Man - 9/10 - I wouldn't change anything about it.
Batman Begins - 10/10 - What's not to like...brilliant.
Johnny English Reborn - 7/10
Batman the dark knight rises; 10/10
My favourite out of the trilogy. The dark knight was awsome but this one is out of this world. Its such a shame Nolan wont be doing anymore. I feel sorry for who ever does the next batman film..... BIG shoes to fill
Taking Of Pelham 123. 9/10
John Travolta plays the bad guy brilliantly in this film.
Dark Knight Rises 10/10. Have to agree the best of the trilogy. When I saw this at the cinema I felt underwhelmed. Constantly interrupting, my mates wisecracks ruined it. Absolutely enjoyed every minute tonight. Might not have a Heath Ledger performance but none the poorer for it. Certainly left the door open for someone to follow up the trilogy. Up there with The Avengers as best films of the year.
