Total Recall (new one). Very good reboot/revamp of the Arnie classic. Colin farrell is very good as doug quaid/hauser and Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsake are also good as the other famous characters from the Arnie version, Lori and Melina
Whilst not as bloody and violent as the Arnie one, it's still very good with great effects and action. There are some nods to the Arnie one including the famous 3 breasted prostitute
8/10
the arnie version is on itv2 at 10pm tonight
Apollo 18
In this alleged final secret mission to the moon, this film is not your average alien sci fi horror,it is however a quite gripping/tense watch.
Shot in a grainy camcorder style, you find yourself double taking many scenes to see if you've seen what you thought you did.
This is definitely one for conspiracy theorist,by no means is this an Alien/The Thing type movie but it is quite an intriguing watch.

The Last Samurai.
Very good film indeed starring Tom Cruise. Captures the samurai in all their glory and does not detract anything from the beautiful culture of the Japanese. Really good storyline. A must watch, if a little long being over 2 hours plus. Also a little slow moving as well but this does not detract from the film as a whole.

Plus, Tom Cruise has awesome hair in this film
Finally got to see Batman Rises. I either go to advance screenings or leave it a few weeks for the masses to die down (pop corn rustling phobia
). However, in this case and despite the movie being released on 20th July it's still playing to a full house.
The movie itself. Hmmm not quite as good as I was expecting. I think all the hype got the better of my expectations. It may just have been me of course as I was tired. It's still a good film and ends the trilogy nicely but I just felt it was a bit too long and 'talky' in the middle bit. Bane was well played by Tom Hardy but seemed a bit muffled at times and sadly for him he had to follow in the footsteps of Heath Ledger who's mesmerising performance made the 2nd movie for me. Still worthy of 8/10 and is a definite blu ray pre-order.
Edit: I did enjoy the underlying story of the internal strife at GCPD, especially between the characters played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Blake) and Matthew Modine (Foley). That story in itself would make a decent film.
Hobo With A Shotgun:
Rutger Hauer stars as the hobo of the title, cleaning up the city streets of all the scum his way. if you enjoyed Machete then this is shot in the same way, nice performance form Rutger Hauer, along with black humour and comedy gore make this a fun watch. 7/10

Having seen most of the "prequels" beforehand helped a lot with understanding the plot.
The last 30 minutes or so was very reminiscent of Advent Children, automatically making this great viewing.
