Hunger games:Mockingjay part 2
I really enjoyed the franchice right up to the last 45 minutes or so.
I understood why she killed the new madame president, but she could have killed Snow 1st, her whole reason for surviving through 2 good films and a medeocre one split in two...
Goodbye Christopher Robin(recorded Sky Cinema). The story of how AA Milne and his fraught relationship with his son led to the creation of Winnie the Pooh, recently voted the most loved children's book of all time.
Bumblebee 7.5/10 - a prequel to the Transformer movies and it is so much better than any of them, it relies less on overblown action sequences and convoluted plots and uses a simple story to tell of Bumblebees arrival on earth. Hailee Steinfeld is a very talented actress and adds a genuine warmth to the film, something the transformer movies lacked. The action sequences are good and there are some quite funny moments plus being set in the 80s the soundtrack is excellent.
Recommended.
^ totally agree with that.It felt like an 80s film that I'd watched growing up,sort of made in the same spirit of Gremlins,Flight of the Navigator and Short Circuit. Definitely goes for substance over style.
Nomads(1986)
The directorial debut of John McTiernan isn't an easy watch, the horror/thriller story follows a French anthropologist(Pierce Brosnan)who specialises in nomadic tribes as he and his wife move to Los Angeles only to be embroiled in a murder mystery, body swap/déjà vu type scenario.Suspenseful in places and brilliantly shot with a good soundtrack from Ted Nugent and Bill Conti, its let down by being very difficult to follow. With good support from Leslie Anne Down and Maria Monticello.
6/10
A Prayer Before Dawn(2018)
Peaky Blinders star Joe Cole is utterly superb in this brutal telling of British fighter Billy Moore, incarcerated on drug charges in a Thai prison and forced to fight for survival and his freedom.Bold, unflinching and hard to watch at times, the sense of realism is captured perfectly.
8/10
