Ghosts on the Loose(1943)
A comedy ghost film about a group that call themselves The East Side Kids, who try to fix up a house for a newlywed couple only to find it haunted by mysterious men.The always watchable Bela Lugosi and Ava Gardner star in this decent effort.

The Cabin In The Woods(2012) Five friends spent a weekend in a remote cabin but of course bad things happen. A fairly refreshing take on this genre, which is also part dark comedy and part horror spoof. Starring Chris Hemsworth,Kristen Connelly, Anna Hutchinson,Fran Kranz,Jesse Williams,Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford & Sigourney Weaver. 6.5/10
Flannelfoot(1933)
Ronald Howard stars as Mitchell,a crime news hack who is determined to discover the true identity of the infamous jewel thief "Flannelfoot".Another well structured crime drama from master of the genre,MacLean Rodgers. Also starring Mary Germaine.
7.5/10
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back
Liked the first film and really enjoyed this film too, Tom Cruise was great as Jack Reacher along with Cobie Smulders who was great in this film could see her being action star if she gets the right roles. One thing I can't work out how it's only a 12A, it won't win awards for original plot but hey that's all films these days 9.2/10.
Altar (2014) also known as The Haunting At Radcliffe House A builder is employed to restore a lonely Yorkshire house to its original condition, but soon suspects it is haunted. A pretty creepy affair helped by the roving and giddy camerawork and the performances, particularly Olivia Williams & Matthew Modine( a disturbing portrayal) as the troubled married couple and Antonia Clarke as their daughter. The film does lose its way a bit towards the end, however. Also starring Adam Thomas Wright,Jonathan Jaynes,Rebecca Calder, Steve Oram & Stephen Chance. 7/10
Blood and Roses(1960)
Another film based on Le Fanu's Camilla.Roger Vadim's effort does feature some nicely shot and creepy scenes but is mostly remembered for the gorgeous Annette Vadim in the lead role of Camilla.
6/10
I Am Legend (2007) Following an world wide epidemic, Will Smith is the last man in New York fighting off the mutants effected by the epidemic. In someways standard Hollywood fare, but does have a fair bit going for it, Smith charismatically carries much of the film, his relationship with his dog is touching, the flashbacks are effective and the mutants are well done. Also starring Alice Braga, Charlie Tahan, Salli Richardson-Whitfield & Willow Smith. 6.5/10
^ a previous film based on the same novel starred Charlton Heston - "The Omega Man" (1971).
(It's not often repeated on TV, the "blaxploitation" style depiction of all the zombie characters leaves a bad taste in the mouth)
