War Dogs - 7/10.
Based on a true story, but as always, artistic licence applied.
An interesting story of two friends who buy and sell arms to the US military...until things go a bit tits up.
The Mummy (2017) - 7/10 considering the reviews it was much better than i expected.
Annie Hall(1977)
The film that beat Star Wars for the best picture Oscar and really launched the modern rom-com genre.Woody Allen plays a neurotic comedian who loves, then loses a nightclub singer in Diane Keaton.Wonderful performances and the type of witty dialogue that Hollywood lacks so badly these days.
8.5/10
The Mummy (2017) average at best 5/10, Tom Cruise worst action film for along time.
Some people may say "well it's not supposed to be an action film" but in my opinion it most definately ain't a horror film.
Red Planet. How often do you watch a film on tv and it's not till your about 20/30 minutes in that you think - I've watched this film before.... Oh well carry on watching then.
The Maze Runner (2014)
An interesting take on a dystopian society-based sci-fi thriller. I've seen similar themed films before but have always found too much to be missing. You know the kind, where sometimes the plot doesn't make sense further into the film or the reveal is a disappointing one that leaves you feeling like you've been cheated. Sure they're entertaining for a while, but the interest drops. I didn't find that with this - the mystery of this film leaves you wanting more and from a movie intended to be the start of a series of films, that's just what you want. Not too over the top, not too ridiculous, just right and exciting to keep the interest level through to the conclusion. For me better than the Hunger Games franchise which I was disappointed by. Dylan O' Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Patricia Clarkson, Will Poulter and Thomas Brodie-Sangster star. 3/5
Murder On The Orient Express(1974) Directed by Sidney Lumet with Albert Finney as Poirot this is an enjoyable, star studded version of Agatha Christie's clever classic. A good, sometimes witty script, while Finney, slightly over the top as Poirot and neither as good as Peter Ustinov or David Suchet, is still fine. 7.5/10
Little Children (2006)
Kate Winslet plays Sarah, a bored Bostom housewife and mother who befriends Brad, a stay at home dad who is studying law. Their friendship develops but is set against the tension in the community caused by a convicted sex offender being released back into society.
I won't give away the whole plot but fortunately Brad and Sarah's relationship develops to the point where they are fucking each other on a regular basis. This is great for the viewer as we get some cracking views of Winslet's lovely big tits and nice arse.
10/10
Yojimbo(1961)
Mifune's scruffy looking ronin meanders into a small town that is in the midst of gang war and proceeds to pit the two factions against each other in order to come out on top.A superb allegory of post war Japanese corruption and one of director Kurosawa's best films.
8.5/10
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
The only thing I liked about was the new suit, Spider-Man's one liners, the special effects and the chemistry between Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone as the time they were dating. At times the film was too funny.
The story and plot was godful, the villains in the movie were terrible Jamie Foxx is a good actor but as Max/Electro bad there was no motivation behind him being a villain only that he was sulking because Spider-Man never remembered his name and Max thought he was his friend, his eyes and ears am sorry that's not enough to make you feel threatened. It was Max's birthday yet he was in a coma for a couple weeks and where did he get his suit from?.
Paul Giamatti great actor but again shit as Rhino, the silly accent and the suit at the end along with the kid dressesd in a Spider-Man outfit I cringed. His performance wasn't needed at start and ending.
Dane Osborn as Harry Osborn good actor but not great in this role you don't buy that Peter and Harry were best friends it feels shoe horned in it was done better in the Sam Rami version. If Harry and his father Norman have the same illness why is it effecting Harry faster?, and how does Harry know how to use the glider and now thanks to the spider venom his illness comes and goes and looked dumb as the green goblin wtf.
With what happens to Gwen I felt nothing after what happened to her, the flashbacks with Peters dad Richard on the plane he has modern day laptop/computer but it's years in the past wtf.
They copied Max/Electro fixation with Spider-Man from the riddlers fixation with Bruce Wayne in Batman Forever.
The film looks stunning and Andrew Garfield is good and as Spider-Man but as Peter Parker he acts too cool, the romance side of the film went on too long and dragged the film down too which the film was too long. As for the ending terrible, in some ways this film is worse then Spider-Man 3 and film score was bad and too much slow mo, I actually liked the first film and a ton of stuff was cut out including Mary Jane.
6.3/10.
