Jurassic Park Fallen Kingdom

First of all gonna start off with the positives of the movie, the special effects were great along with the photography. There’s a decent story along with some funny light hearted moments balanced with some emotional scenes thoughout the movie you’ll see what I mean when they happen. There is a nice twist a young character which at first I didn’t see coming but as the movie goes along you start to piece it together and it’s always nice seeing Jeff Goldblum again plus little Easter Eggs from the previous movies.
Now the negatives the film is really predictable and obvious all tho it is a decent story it’s nothing new, even with Jeff Goldblum all I can say is the trailers and is barely in it. All tho the twist with the young character was great your made to believe there going some where important with the revelation as why or what made the person so special again it could be set up the next movie but it was a little disappointing.
It felt like they copied and pasted certain events that happened in previous movies especially with The Lost World movie and the previous movie just felt like they took bits from each of the previous films and slapped it together it’s like with the villain very similar to the villain in The Lost world.
The beginning sequence was very obvious and cliched and computer technician with the glasses bloody annoying as for the romance with main characters felt like it was played on auto pilot. There is a after credit at the very end it’s not very long but it is there. All in all a decent movie and there’s fun to be had and if your Jurassic Park then you’ll enjoy it for me still enjoyed it but it’s like there running out of ideas and it’s becoming very predictable so it’s gonna get two scores from me.

Think I won't be paying cinema prices to go see that, then!

The first Jurassic Park will never be topped.
Just finished watching John Carpenter's horror classic Halloween (1978) on Sky.
Do I really need to say anything about this? It's still very suspenful all these years later & the musical score is brilliant and terrifying as ever!

Best bet is to watch it when they cheap cinema ticket days I know certain cinema chains do that.
Red River(1948)

Howard Hawks basically retold Mutiny on the Bounty in this masterful western starring John Wayne,superb as a tyrannical trail boss facing a rebellion from his adopted son as they drive a herd of cattle to Abilene,Texas.With a great debut from Montgomery Clift and strong support from John Ireland as a doomed gunfighter.

Happy Death Day (2018);

What can be worse than reliving the same day every day where you get killed,reliving the same day every day getting killed on your birthday of course which is what happens to hapless uni student Tree Gelbman.No sooner than blowing the candles out on your birthday cake someone is already plotting how to bump you off & in reflection would certainly reduce the numbers (to all but one)on who you would invite to your birthday party.

In this Groundhog Day meets Scream meets Final Destination mash-up of a film uni-student Tree must relive her death-day until she can solve who the murderer is & to prevent it from happening & go back to normality in her life.This is easier said than done as once the familiarity of the daily proceedings at the exact time every day kicks in Tree is able to avoid a certain death (only to be killed off some other way).It takes a fair amount of deaths for Tree to come to some startling conclusions.

Overall I quite liked the film as at times when you think Tree has solved things only for her to wake up the following morning & re-live the same day again was a novel approach but the ending I found was a tad disappointing which was more cheesy than an Edam factory.7/10.
Double Impact

Wish Upon (2017);

Horror starring Joey King as Clare a young college student who's had a rather troubled upbringing since witnessing the suicide of her mother as a young child in mysterious circumstances she is often haunted by flashbacks.With what seems like the weight of the world on her young shoulders at times Clare has a small group of friends she confides in but Clare generally has a hard time at college where she is frequently bullied by a group of some of the more popular students.College life isn't made any easier for Clare when her dad John (Ryan Phillippe) a garbage collector is seen (by the the whole college campus) looting through rubbish in a skip just yards from the college which just so happens to be be filmed & posted on social media sites by students.

On returning home from college Clare is gifted from her father a strange looking box with ancient Chinese inscription on it which just so happened to have been found dumped in with the rubbish (one man's rubbish is another man's treasure & all that).Through research Clare finds out that the intriguing looking object is in fact a 'Wish Box' that grants 7 wishes to the lucky finder,but what Clare neglected to find out (though the fine-print) is that the box is controlled by a powerful Djinn (Demon) & for every wish granted a person close to the wisher is killed as a sacrifice & once one wish has been granted all 7 wishes must used if not the Djinn will come for them & claim their soul.

Clare's first dabble with the box in which she wishes for poor health to one of the college bullies & substantial wealth (so her embarrassing dad can quit his job) bear fruition but a family member & neighbour mysteriously perish as a result.It takes several wishes & several deaths as a consequence for the penny to drop that the mysterious box is the work of pure evil but time is short & Clare must use her remaining wishes wisely if she & her loved ones want to survive.

A few clever twists in the plot & a surprising ending make this a pretty good watch.7.5/10.
The Strangers. Prey at night (2018)

Starring Christina Hendricks

A family arrive at a deserted caravan park, where they are terrorised by 3 masked psychopaths.

Not exactly original but better than most slasher pics in my opinion.

Murder At 3am(1953)

A tense crime drama from director Francis Searle following the authorities as they hunt for a vicious serial killer who murders woman at exactly three o'clock in the morning.With good performances from Dennis Price,Peggy Evans and Phillip Saville.
