Skyfall (2012)
At last a decent entry in the Bond series. After so many disappointments both with Pierce Brosnan's era and with Daniel Craig's first two films, this provides quality entertainment. A little overlong at 2 and a half hours but that's only a minor complaint. I can see why it received such high rewards in both financial return and award accolades. As I said, after Timothy Dalton's era the franchise went stale for me - but this brings it back to what we expect from a Bond film. I liked the combination of the present time setting and the throwback to decades gone by. Very good. 4/5
