X-Men: Apocalpse, first of all its not as bad what the critics have been saying about the film, all I found it to be a good film it wasn't for me as good Days of Future Past (Rogue Cut haven't watched it. Acting wise the film is great and CGI and set pieces are probably the best in the X-Men series, the new actors do there jobs very well. As usually Quicksilver stole show yet again I really hope we even more of him in the next movie. The sound track is very good and goes well with the movie. They mixed the right amount action and humour so it wasn't over the top.
The problems I had with the film were the Four Horsemen who for me felt weak in the film and didn't get much screen time, the pacing was a little slow in places and felt a little too long similar issues that BvS had. It has plot holes and doesn't either explain things from the previous film or stuff that's happening in this one for example with certain character cameo something happened in the previous movie but they never address it this film or certain things could explain or things happen which could moved along the plot of the story, all I'll say there is Quicksilver.
Oscar Issacs plays a good Apocalypse and does the best his given with and his a great actor but this version of Apocalypse for me any isn't as good as the comic version or even the animated version in X-Men some of his powers are missing. Also the storyline with Magneto wasn't that great again a connection with another character which can work out who could have balanced out his storyline, I just wish the characters were given more time and fleshed out more time and developed a little more. All in all still a good film and still worth seeing just in my opinion not as good as Days of Future Past 9/10

Silent Running(1972) Bruce Dern brings out a complex performance as a rather misanthropic astronaut near Saturn's rings who refuses to destroy the last flora inside a dome attached to his ship. Despite a rather thin back story(Its never really explained what happened on Earth), its an absorbing tale with reasonable special effects and cool robots. 6.5/10

It's In The Bag(1943)

Two sisters,Gert and Daisy are struggling for money and decide to sell their grandma's old dress,afterwards they find out it had £20,000 sewn into the hem.They desperately try to find the dress and buy it back.A decent comedy/drama directed by Herbety Mason and featuring charismatic turns from Elsie and Doris Waters.

Creed. A terrible film. Apollo Creed died in 1984 so how on earth is a 21 year old going to be his son? Suspension of disbelieve way too high.

The Magic Sword(1962)

Director Bert I.Gordon's best film but,any film with Basil Rathbone as an evil wizard and Estelle Winwood as sorceress can't help but be anything but watchable.Also starring Gary Lockwood(murdered by HAL in 2001 : A Space Odyssey)as Sir George, who in one great scene faces an impressive two headed dragon in order to save Princess Helene,played with charm and grace by Anne Helm.Pure escapism but highly enjoyable with some decent live action creatures and special effects.

Dark Passage(1947) A Bogart/Bacall vehicle in which Humphrey is a prison escapee who sets out to prove he didn't kill his wife, and Lauren is the woman who believes in him. Along the way, he has plastic surgery to change his face. Despite some plot implausibilities and a rather thin mystery element this is an enjoyable hour and forty minutes of crime/noir, with some witty dialogue and good performances, as well as the leads, there's Agnes Moorehead,Tom D'Andrea, Clifton Young and Houseley Stevenson. The first forty minutes or so is quite original when the Bogart character hasn't had his surgery so the camera is from his point of view. 7.5/10

Mysterious Mr.Davis(1936)

A highly enjoyable comedy starring Henry Kendall as Julian,who in total desperation due to escalating money problems, invents an imaginary partner to stave off his creditors.With excellent support from the ever reliable and believable Alastair Sim.

Ratatouille(2007) An animated feature where a rat in Paris wishes to be a chef. An amusing and clever film featuring the voices of Patton Oswalt, Ian Holm, Brian Dennehy,Peter O'Toole & Janeane Garofalo. 7/10

Mr.Holmes(2015)

Sir Ian Mackellen gives an excellent performance as Sherlock Holmes, now in his mid nineties,trying to recall and slove a case he worked on years ago.Brilliant direction and framing help this steadily paced picture along nicely.Well worth a watch if you're a fan of the legendary character.

Blackmail (1929) An early Hitchcock crime thriller as a girl (Anny Ondra) is assaulted by an artist, who she kills in self defence. Her policeman boyfriend tries to cover it up but a blackmailer comes on the scene... Acknowledged as the first British talkie ( there was a silent version as well because not all cinemas were equipped for sound), the storyline is fairly familiar but its full of Hitch's clever directorial visual touches including some influenced by Expressionism(Hitch had visited German studios). The acting is pretty good too, despite having to use another actresses' voice instead of Ondra who had a thick European accent. There is splendid chase climax in the British Museum. Also starring John Longden and Donald Calthrop. 8/10
