(21-10-2015 22:26 )*Kal-El* Wrote: [ -> ]Back To The Future Part 2, had to be done and right date for it too, all tho not quite as good as the first one or quite a classic too but a very enjoyable and one of my fav films of all time. I love the way it's darker tone and goes back into the first film 9.4/10.

Yeah..all three were on ITV2 last night, though I missed most of the first (best?) one as it started too early in the afternoon.
Libyan terrorists ?
Funny how things come around.

For me, Part 2 doesn't really get going until they go back into 1955 again : seeing it again, it seemed like the stuff at the beginning in 2015 is a bit tedious - the sort of "retreading" of the 1955 scenes in the café and the chase around the square etc. Just my opinion.
It gets more interesting again with the "alternative" future/present.
And I like the complexity of having the two versions of the Marty and Doc character both running around in 1955, trying not to "interfere" with the events of the previous film and keep them on track. Relatively brave thing to do I think when it first came out ? - way before Dr Who revivals or even that kind of time paradox stuff had been done much in mainstream TV or Hollywood films ?

Part 3 doesn't really work for me, I'm not that much into Westerns at the best of times.

Mind you, ITV2 not starting Part 3 until 10:30pm - choosing to interrupt the flow between Part 2 and Part 3 by showing a 90 minute Keith Lemon "mockumentary" in between them ( WHY OH WHY OH WHY ? KEITH LEMON ?!?! FFS) - so the poor audience (well, me anyway) is yawning its way through the saggy Doc/Clara love-story padding in the middle of Part 3 ( eek Is that why Dr Who has a companion called "Clara", please say it ain't so ? eek) and falling asleep by 12:50am by the time it finishes.
Far from The Madding Crowd. Excellent movie. Matthias Schoenaerts stars who is also in Suite franchise. Another brillant performance from him. 9/10
Evengelion 3.33 - You Can (Not) Redo:

The original series and the "End of Evangelion" movie were weird enough, the third "Rebuild" movie is no different. The 14-year timeskip is a bit jarring though.
Terminator Genisys

Two Arnies,Helicopter chase and a hot Sarah Conor, what's not to like.

8/10

The Green Inferno

Brutal eco horror,my advice to any eco do gooder,f$#k trying to save shit in the Amazon it will only end up biting you in the arse (or biting your arse off)....literally!!!!

Good watch

8/10
Terminator Genisys biggest problem is pretty showed the best bits of film and pretty much the whole film as well plus the twist if had cut the trailer a lot better the film would have done better at the box office. Even the director complained about the trailer showing too much as he didn't have a say in the cut of trailer, if you haven't seen any of trailers you'll enjoy the film. The problem with a lot trailers these days is they show way too much spoiling the film, you don't have to watch a trailer but part of having a trailer is to sell you the film, The Force Awakens trailer is good example of a trailer that gives you a taste of film but without showing nothing no one knows what the film is about or twists or key scenes because it's not being shown making more invested in seeing the film even with the hype behind it. The next set of Terminator films have now been out on hold.
Spectre

The newest James Bond film and its brilliant, only Skyfall for me is better in the James Bond Franchise. Daniel Craig is again very good as James Bond, Christoph Waltz is a brilliant villain playing Oberhauser. Lea Seydoux is very good as the main Bond Girl Madelinne Swann, Dave Bautista does what is expected as the henchman Mr Hinx. Naomie Harris, Ben Wishaw and Ray Finnes play their part as Moneypenny, Q & M.

There's some brilliant action sequences including a brilliant car chase in rome between the aston martin DB10 & a Jaguar in a very good story which ties into the previous Daniel Craig bond films & some funny one liners.

9/10
Spectre, without spoiling as to why it finally feels like a Bond film you'll see why from the start, it finally connects all the previous three bond films together and Daniel Craig once again as Bond his really made the role is own, Christoph Waltz was a great bad guy and a nasty piece of work not quite as good as the bad guy in Skyfall but bloody close the twist with him was very good. Mr Jinx a meanacing but a little under used for me but played the part well. Ralph Fiennes was great as the M, along with Moneypenny and Q, the banter between Bond and Q was priceless and film is a lot more funny and gory then you realise. Forgot to say Andrew Scott fucking creepy well we know his good at playing that role from BBC Sherlock Homes. The chemistry between Bond and new Bond girl was good but the romance seemed a little rushed, there were a couple little isssues the opening sequence was amazing but there was something that happens that was a little silly which I won't spoil and another sequence between Bond and Mr Hinx that was a bit too typical again. The Bond theme I thought was decent but in places a little too high pitched in placed, all in all a very good Bond film and well directed and shot by Sam Mendes, my fav Daniel Craig is still Casino Royale but I highly recommend this film, beware it's nearly three hours long but well worth it 9.4/10.
the crow 7/10, the film unfortunately was ahead of its time by having to digitally adding Brandon lee to scenes, this was meant to be his big break and become more than bruce lee's son. I hope they do a remake but in the same style has the evil dead film by paying homage to the original.
The Hobbit - Desolation of Smaug.

(Shelled out for the 3 DVD's pack.)

"Da - why are there dwarves coming out of our toilet ?" Rolleyes Funnily enough, I don't remember this line from Tolkien's original text ?

Something that only just struck me on this second viewing though, is that a bit liike the Star Wars prequels, the tie-in bits with the Lord of the Rings, which also aren't in the original book, though some are derived from other bits of Tolkien's writing; to properly work assume that the audience already know some of the characters : Sauron for instance. So it kind of assumes you're watching the films in the "wrong" order.
By rights, something like at least a part of little "history prequel" at the beginning of The Fellowship of The Ring - dealing with the original battle against Sauron that vanquishes him the first time around ; should really have been at the start of the Unexpected Journey ?
(Because, let's face it, that Unexpected Journey film wasn't long enough already ? ) !
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 2

Wink ...well, let's face it - Snape's the real hero of this film series isn't he ? Misunderstood genius who gives his life to make ultimate victory against Voldermort possible, despite being sneered at all his life by his supposedly "good" contemporaries WinkTongue

Wink Potter's just a snivelling "golden boy" handed everything on a plate who lucks his way through everything WinkTongue : yeah yeah he's an orphan, all very sad....but it all works out pretty well for him despite it that doesn't it ? WinkTongue

And how exactly is he able to be supporting two children and sending them to a (presumably very expensive WinkTongue) exclusive private school 19 years later ? Surprisedbladewave

He obviously must have failed all his exams - admittedly lots of people were trying to kill him during them - which must put you off your revision, granted; but still, what kind of job is he going to be able to hold down without an OWL to his name ? - was he maybe allowed to resit them again later once the school was rebuilt ?Winklaugh

Wink Presumably he spends the rest of his adult life as the wizarding equivalent of a child-star has-been just continually trading on his past fame - the ghost-written autobiography, appearances on chat shows / increasingly embarrassing cameo appearances on ever-more-downmarket reality TV shows as his star slowly wanes ( "The Chosen One, yeah that was 20 years ago though mate, what have you done lately ?") WinkTonguelaughBig Laugh

Oh - and most unforgivably - he names his kid "Albus Severus" ? eek
Way to set to up your kid for serious bullying the rest of his life.HuhRolleyes
His parents give him a sensible name like Harry, and what does he do ? Rolleyes
What was wrong with naming him after his own father ? - sensible name like James ?
How did his wife let him get away with that ?! Sheesh Rolleyes
