The Christmas Chronicles 2 - 8/10.
Not as good as the first imo, but still very good. I like that they have a little depth to them. Many modern Christmas films are one dimensional comedy, not bad, but no heart. If they can come up with a decent story, I'd like see a couple more of these.
Wonder Woman 1984 - 7/10.
This was a let down, thankfully the acting wasn't an issue (great cast), but it was too long and didn't deliver in the way it should have.
I am glad the return made sense, but it was just disappointing. It should have been better, let's hope the third is better than this one.
Forbidden Planet
Classic movie which along with the effects still hold up today. The film highly influenced by the William Shakespeare play The Tempest. Also you can see the influence this film on future sci fi films like Star Wars and especially Star Trek and the Blu Ray steel book is fantastic too.

The first Wonder Woman is on ITV tomorrow at 7:30pm. Have to wait till WW84 comes out on streaming in about 2 weeks to watch it (pending the cost) given I’m in tier 3 and cinemas are shut
Mandy from 2018 with Nicolas Cage.
Biggest load of shite I have ever seen.. 0/10

If you go in expecting it to not be as good as the first, you won't be disappointed.
It's not a bad film by any means, but it didn't meet my expectations, it could/should have been better imo.

Sequels are more often to be not as good as the first film, so when I do watch WW84 I will be expecting it to be not as good as Wonder Woman.
It’s clearly done well enough for WB to already greenlit the next Wonder Woman film
Considering the reviews, I think they were a bit quick with the sequel. I wonder if they went by a sample audience, because now it's out in the world, it's not getting good reviews. The fact it's sitting at 70% on Google reviews (16k+), down from 73 yesterday, usually indicates a flop, so if it doesn't move up to at least 85%, then that's not good at all. They should be worried by that score, even at this early stage.
(90-100% = Great. 80-90% = Good. 70-80% = Okay. Less than 70% = Shite. My opinion of course, but the reviews are mostly reliable.)

I just started watching it and had to turn it off 25 minutes in, its abit on the cringe/cheesy side dialogue wise...

I think that’s part of the problem with these DC films. They do TOO well at the box office despite being irredeemably shit.
The Chris Nolan Batmans were great. But then Marvel came along with the Extended Universe idea and DC had to follow.
Man of Steel was bad. Batman versus Superman was embarrassingly bad. (Wonder Woman was pretty good). Then Justice League took badness to a whole other level. And there is no word for just how bad Aquaman was.
But they all made a tonne of money anyway, because they’re only making superhero movies and Star Wars now anyway, and we all paid to see just how bad they really were.
And that’s the trap. Because I’m sure WB knows that the whole Universe needs to be junked and started over. But so long as people are still emptying their pockets to see this trash, they’d be crazy to stop churning it out.
