Spider-Man Far From Home

Saw this on Tuesday morning last week. Overall really enjoyed all tho it’s far from perfect. First all the positives great cast especially newcomer on to the franchise Jake Gyllenhaal he was good with his performance. Also the several twists throughout the movie including the post credit scenes. The action set pieces throughout the film were great along with the special effects especially in the second half of the movie. How they deal with the aftermath of Avengers Endgame was also very touching. All I can say about the new take on the villain is I really love how took the comic source of this character and modernise it and it makes totally sense. There is a really creepy scene in the film.
Now the negatives I did feel the film felt a little too cheesy and cringe worthy especially the first half of them movie it’s not as bad in the second half of the film. I still feel they over cgi Spiderman suit. A lot of jokes fell flat for me. The naming of one powers was again cheesy and that special effect was done better in other Spiderman films especially Sam Rami’s version. I wish Spiderman acted more Spiderman I felt Andrew Garfield acted more Spiderman I just wish he did more Spidey things instead it feels like there trying to turn Peter into Tony Stark rather then being his own man. Also some bets are clearly copied from various Ironman films so it little too on the nose. Certain relationships wish they had developed a little bet more. The trailers do spoil somethings but somethings are totally out of context. I still have issues with Aunt May all tho I know Marisa Tomei is 54 and looks way younger but it still feels like they trying to sex up her character especially with one scene that focuses on a close part of the actress, also there’s a certain thing that’s mentioned in Endgame which is mentioned here again but it’s totally glossed over. The first post credit there’s a cameo of character which was great and shock ending. The last post credit scene was wtf moment but at same time it did feel a little kick in teeth. All in all I enjoyed movie but Spiderman 2 Directors Cut still my fav Spiderman film not including these my Spiderman was the Fox 1990’s animated series.
Alita Battle Angel
A very cgi heavy film i would guess 90% of the movie is cgi but mostly good cgi, quite a fun film to watch but much like avatar its better at the cinema than on a tv screen
Hopefully we will get an alita 2 but based on its box office its not looking likely...
Still i enjoyed it.

Spider-Man Far From Home

Will keep this short as dont want to spoil it for other people and other people have done reviews on it allready I really enjoyed Spiderman my main concern was i hope they do mysterio well and i thought they did i thought they did a good job translating him from comic to screen and stayed true more a less to what the character is they was a particular scene half way through the movie which was taken directly from the comics so all i need now is for them to do Kraven the Hunter and all my faves been in the movies. they was a lot of comedy in it to not all of it landed but most did and prob one of the best post scene credit out of all the marvel movies left me wanting more.

Resident Evil

My friend she forced me to watch it lol and being a massive fan of games hugely disappointed it’s nothing like the games at all not even scary or gory. The CGI animated movies feel more like games this film utter shit.
The Imitation Game (2014)

Benedict Cumberbatch is at his near imperious best as he channels his portrayal of genius-level mathematician turned WWII codebreaker Alan Turing to perfection. A fact based drama that goes above and beyond in it's research in to the subject matter which saw it rightfully pick up the Best Adapted Screenplay award at the 2015 Oscars. Cumberbatch leads a stellar British cast that also includes Keira Knightley, Charles Dance, Mark Strong, Rory Kinnear and Matthew Goode. An engaging and extremely rewarding heavyweight piece of film making. 4.5 / 5
Ready Player One (2018): First half hour is main character narrating about what is happening in the world in the year 2045 and rest of the movie is every people in the world playing vr game. Between 2018 and 2045 there has been only one new invention that is stacking caravan trailers over each other. Not even 1 new game character or new music was created in 27 years.

Plot had way too many similarities with the Lego movie (2014).

The Sergio Leone epic Once Upon a Time in the West (1969)

Considered by many to be the best western of all time and it's hard to argue against that. Mrs McBain, moves from New Orleans to frontier Utah, on the very edge of the American West. She arrives to find her new husband and family slaughtered, but by Henry Fonda's character Frank who at this stage of his career had only played good guys so todays equivalent would be Tom Hanks being cast as a murderous child killing villain. This has everything i love about Sergio Leone movies fantastic scenery, amazing closeups, great score and the intensity for the final act ramped up to a 100.

Henry Fonda is fantastic as the heartless Frank who thinks nothing of killing women and children, Charles Bronson performance as Harmonica is equally as good as the cool revenge driven gunfighter and Claudia Cardinale is gorgeous as Mrs Bain. The final duel is arguably the greatest 8 mins to ever be put on film. 10/10

Great film.
Annabelle Comes Home 7/10 - this latest instalment in the Conjuring universe takes it time to get going but has some creepy moments and good scares at the end.
Falling Down (1993)

Tense drama directed by Joel Schumacher, starring Michael Douglas & Robert Duvall.
An unemployed defense worker frustrated with the various flaws he sees in society, begins to psychotically and violently lash out against them.
I was recommended this a few months ago by a friend & finally got round to watching it last night. It's the best film I've watched in some time. The performances & story (of where anyone of us could easily snap with someone's BS) are great. There's hardly a moment where the tension let's up & I was entertained throughout. Douglas has gone on record to say this film is his favourite of his own performances. Highly recommended.
