Independence Day: Resurgence (2016)
What should have been dumb fun, is just dumb. A dull story, confusing inconsistencies that bare little resemblance to it's exciting predecessor, a real difficulty in relating to any of the characters and a really stupid anticlimactic finish. Visually impressive yes, but I'm afraid that's where the appeal begins and ends. This sequel sucks, and that's two hours I'll never have back, so lets never talk of this again.

The Hi-Jackers(1963)
A decent drama from Jim O'Connolly about a lorry driver hauling a massive amount of valuable whiskey who after after offering a young woman lift, finds himself in a hijack situation. With good performances from Tony Booth and Jacqueline Elis.

Splice(2009)
Another film in a long line of "tampering with God's work" effort, this time Vincenzo Natali directs Sarah Polley and Adrian Brody as two genetic engineers that are portrayed as pawns of an immoral corporation.Excellent performances and effects mage this a very watchable and reactionary piece of work.
7.5/10
The helpers (2012)
Low budget but well made horror film which steals some of its plot from films like vacancy and the hitcher. The gory effects are pretty good and the cast of unknowns are believable in their roles
8/10
The Boy (2016)
A thriller/horror starring the rather hot Lauren Cohen (Walking Dead) as Greta a young lady escaping life & a scum-bag boyfriend in America & takes a job as live-in nanny looking after a young boy called Brahms in a rural English village.
When Greta first meets Brahm's parents it is apparent they are a rather odd couple & quite rightly so as Brahms isn't just an ordinary boy he is in fact a rather creepy looking doll its just that Brahm's parents treat him as a living & breathing person. They do explain to Greta that their actual son died rather tragically 20 years ago but he continues to live on through the creepy doll. What could be easier than looking after a doll that doesn't move or even talk right ? particularly when Brahm's parents get called away leaving Greta on her own in a large house with the creepy doll.
He maybe just a doll but Brahms does have a daily routine what are called 'his Rules' which involves dressing him daily, feeding him breakfast, lunch & dinner, playing his favourite songs, tucking him in bed & kissing him goodnight.
When Greta neglects Brahms rules things start happening around the house making Greta believe that the creepy doll may actually be alive after all.The rest you'll have to watch & find out but lets just say there is a great twist near the end.
Overall a pretty decent film 7/10.
Three Cases of Murder(1955)
Directed by David Eady and George More O'Ferrall with an amazing cast including Orson Welles,John Gregson and Elizabeth Sellars.Three wonderfully atmospheric stories that involve murder, mystery and the supernatural. With lots of creepy characters, red herrings, twists and great acting along the way, this is a minor classic.
